They get paid enough to buy food and stuff. Other than that no. Most of the money that you give in church goes to the local dioceses which adds it up and divides it evenly amongst the parishs. The money they get depends on their rank in within the Church.

The money they don't get goes back into the community for example, the Church I go to is like 100 something years old so most of our money goes back into the building.

They basically get a stipend to pay for the food, housing, automobile, insurance, clothing, travel, etc. Our local Bishop supported his mother until her death (she lived in his home here in town) as well. He lives a really modest life. Drives a plain sedan (himself, no chauffer), lives in a small home, etc.

Why wouldn't they get paid? They work. Workers should get paid.
