How often does circumcision turn into amputation?

I heard one in a million. Doens't sound like many but could be a lot, imagine if all the guys in the US got cut that would be 150 missing their bits!

Sometimes they lose the whole thing, sometimes just the glans part I think. Sometimes it's not a whole amputation but it does drastically go wrong. And of course you can also die from getting infections in the wound, or even more "minor" consequences like meateal stenosis (10% of cases). Or they take too much skin and you need more operations to allow an erection when you grow. I think the chances of something going wrong with circumcision are in general more common and more devastating that something going wrong with the foreskin.

Every circumcision is an amputation. Circumcision removes the most richly innervated skin found anywhere on the penis, contained in a region of the foreskin called the ridged bands. It removes a normal and priceless part of the male sex organ, permanently reducing the penis's capability for erogenous sensation and leaving an unattractive and discolored scar all around the penis - you don't think that's amputation?

It does happen, but I haven't been able to find statistics as to how often. I read on one web site that it's not as uncommon as one would think.

I do not think it is coman but it may happen in africa on ocations where they use an open blade.
