You've gotta be kidding me. They are actually symbols of the "fancy Dutch". They are symbols to ensure protection from lightening, good crops, etc.

No. Of course not. Hex signs years ago were inspired and painted by the Amish, who were NOT demonic, but were just superstitious - believing that the signs could protect them from bad luck

The signs persist today mostly on barns, etc. and are meant to attract tourists.
