How would they recognise you in heaven ... in their eyes would you appear young (the way they remember you) and would you see them as old folk (as you remembered them).... ?

Theory.... your spirit/soul is the part of you that goes to heaven and is percieved as a bright light... if this is true... then are ORBS really the ghosts of past lives ...and thus THIS is Heaven?

One of the fundamental beliefs of Christianity is that Jesus had died and allowed for the shedding of his blood for the sake of granting forgiveness to people. In other words Jesus had died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins
but when we read the bible deeply we found this is not true

I asked two questions. Every answer has thumbs down. None of them were bad answers. What is going on? Gay haters? I shouldn't be shocked, but that doesn't change that I'm disgusted.

And the day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the supreme being as his father in the womb of a virgin will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerve in the brain of Jupiter. But may we hope that the dawn of reason and freedom of thought in these United States will do away with this artificial scaffolding, and restore to us the primitive and genuine doctrines of this most venerated reformer of human errors.

And, what was the original Hebrew word that swear came from?

I read the 10 commandments, and nothing says not to swear, but yet people always say that its a commandment.

1. No other Gods before God
2. No carved images or idols
3. Dont take the lords name in vain
4. Remember the Sabbath
5. Honor your father and mother
6. Dont murder
7. Dont commit adultery
8. Dont steal
9. Dont bear false witness
10. Dont covet your neighbors

The only one I can see is the not taking the lords name in vain. But thats not all the "swear" words that people in America say.

Ive also seen other countries, like England, and words that we consider bad are normal their, and words they consider bad is normal here. Same with here and Japan and Korea. There telling someone to Shut Up is like saying the F word here.

So my point is, if its not a commandment, why is it bad to say? And if our words are bad, should we study all cultures and ban their swear words too?

Man has two choices

#1 accept the love of God and go to heaven

#2 refuse the love of God and burn in hell forever

How is that freedom of choice when it is the same thing as a gun to your head?

where did you get your faith from? did you develop it on your own or adopt one that already existed? if you adopted one that already existed, does it bother you that some of your own thoughts aren't incorporated into the doctrine you follow?

I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party of men whatever in religion, in philosophy, in politics, or in anything else where I was capable of thinking for myself. Such an addiction is the last degradation of a free and moral agent.

We get it, we get it. Any sex that isn't vaginal intercourse between a man and a woman who are married to each other is a sin.

But not everyone shares your beliefs. We don't care how Christians choose to limit their sexual experiences, so why do so many Christian (some, not all) want to pass laws to force others to limit theirs? No one is making you watch, no one is forcing you to participate.

If two grown men want to have sex in their home, that's their business. If two adults of consenting age want to have sex despite the fact that they're not married, there's nothing wrong with that. Hell, if six people want to get together, spread themselves with peanut butter, and take turns licking it off, that's fine.

Ok, I just grossed myself out. Sorry. But see, I think it's gross and I'd never do it, but I'm not about to go around and try to pass a law saying that someone else can't.
