tongue in cheek of course. my real question is if people use religion like a drug. it makes you feel happy....it allows you to hide from reality....

hitler was christian and killed just like stallin...lets try to keep religion out of where it doesn't belong.

"Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing bad things, but for good people to do bad things, it takes religion." Steven Weinberg - Nobel Laureate

Never in my whole life have I heard of a better idea for taxpayers money.

Where can I donate funds? Lets get this thing started!!!

Number 1, Hitler was anything but a Christian, he fostered a form of paganism.

Number 2, I would not be so hasty to quote a man responsible for promoting the ideals basic to communism since he how could presume to identify with the "working class" since he was never gainfully employed. Marx lived off the earnings of his friend Engel's capitalistic father. CHECK IT OUT!!

Number 3, why is it so necessary to belittle and mock Christians and feel they need rehab. Would you suggest the same for your friends if they abused drugs and alcohol, or would you excuse their behavior? I am not naive enough to believe that you will take my comments seriously, but I don't understand why you target Christians and scorn their beliefs. If your complaint is because they speak the truth perhaps it would be wise to try to understand what and why they believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Just as you have your own form of pleasure, such as drinking, dancing or other "WORLDLY" entertainment, so do we. However, ours is derived from worshiping and praising the Lord. After all He died for us, what has yours done for you? Think about it!!! The more atheists mock the Lord Jesus Christ the more responses, such as this, you all will receive from believers.

I support freedom of religion.

That's why we're all here, I hope.

Stalin was an Orthodox. Better check before you post.

PS: Weinberg rocks.

nowyouknow: even though I gave you a thumbs up, people try to do that all the time to me. More than one has expressed that desire out loud, to have me locked away until I believe. Then again, I'm in Mississippi, that place where Trent Lott can pass for a wise man.

Ah...I believe in freedom of and from religion...however, I do agree with you in that if they use it as a drug, and makes them feel good. And why do people think that Karl Marx was such a bad man? He was just like John Adman, just with a different idea. He didn't want his form of government to be as bad as the U.S.S.R. was, or any Communist country is/was. People need to learn more....

You are very wise my friend many atrocities have been committed for the sake of religion. My faith is in Christ Jesus but i have very little faith in organized religion. Todays faith based groups operate on good feelings holy ghost jumping and shouting. Rehab should consist of a dose of truth

I know quite a few people who use their religion as a drug.
Some use it to calm themselves when they would otherwise get all worked up over something.
Some use it to get all worked up over something they would usually be neutral about.
Religion has its place, let it be. Well, at least monitor it so that when it starts to become dangerous to the individual, and society at large, interventions can be set up.

Almost all substance abuse rehab programs encourage a belief in a 'higher power.' Whether you choose God, pagan gods, or Buddha is up to you. Basically, rehab is already Christian if you want it to be.

Quoting Karl Marx? And how any millions were killed in the name of Socialism/Communism? Stalin alone killed about 20 million.

that's going a bit far people have the right to believe what they want to and no one else force them to believe something else

No, but we should have rehab for people like you, who want to dictate to the masses concerning their beliefs.

It amounts to your promoting dictatorship or Communism.
