We get it, we get it. Any sex that isn't vaginal intercourse between a man and a woman who are married to each other is a sin.

But not everyone shares your beliefs. We don't care how Christians choose to limit their sexual experiences, so why do so many Christian (some, not all) want to pass laws to force others to limit theirs? No one is making you watch, no one is forcing you to participate.

If two grown men want to have sex in their home, that's their business. If two adults of consenting age want to have sex despite the fact that they're not married, there's nothing wrong with that. Hell, if six people want to get together, spread themselves with peanut butter, and take turns licking it off, that's fine.

Ok, I just grossed myself out. Sorry. But see, I think it's gross and I'd never do it, but I'm not about to go around and try to pass a law saying that someone else can't.

Rev. Albert Einstein, I don't care what you preach. Preach all you want, I'll roll my eyes and walk away. What I care about if Christians trying to force others to comply with their religious views by making laws about them.

By sane, I mean someone who has the mental capacity to understand what is going on and to consent to a sexual act. It may not have been the best term to use for that, but I was typing in a hurry.

I agree. There tends to be this nosiness about what other people are doing and they are "offended". Grow up and get over it, life is full of offensiveness.

My uncle was gay, and when he died, his partner was truly at a loss. I had known him all my life as my uncle's roommate (I didn't find out they were gay until I was in college). I could tell that the love between them was genuine and more than just "sex". I am not gay, but I think it is a true shame that some people cannot get over this and continue to say "it's a choice".

I'll close with this: the reason it's called the missionary position is because missionaries went around to all the natives when they visited the colonies and told them it was the only "non-sinful" position (where is this in the Bible?). Apparently, they couldn't have any fun, and the didn't want anyone else to, either.

Which law(s) are you talking about exactly? House Bill 101: The no peanut butter fellatio law? Senate Bill 207: The no sex with more than two people law? Perhaps you are speaking about laws that have been on the books for a hundred years or more. Sorry, didn't have anything to do with those. Agreed, however, governments have no business regulating what goes on in the sex lives of consenting adults (assuming all are capable of consenting). If you are using sexual activity as a synonym for marriage, however, governments should regulate what passes for state recognized marriage.

Passing laws would be a total waste of time. They will never reform the sinner. Everyone must come willingly to what truly is, otherwise they will not ever find it.
I could care less what other people do, but I also know that this "wonderfulness" will turn against them in an extremely harsh manner. Most don't understand that spiritual law can't be tampered with or by mortal thought.

Where is this so-called 'homopeanutbutter' law you speak of?

And what Christian told you that vaginal intercourse is the only type of sex that is not a sin? The holy bible says:

4The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife. 5Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

The fact is Christianity is about believing in Jesus. Nothing more. Nobody, not Jesus, nor the saints never preached anything about sex. Someone wrote a book about Christ and suddenly it had to be altered by people who followed that belief, but found it unfair that everyone was having sex except them. So they decided, by "some power ordatined by God HERSELF", that what they believed what the one true way of beign christian: no gay sex, no non-marrital sex. And since they couldn't punish people for it, they invented a "hell" to scare peope into hating anything sexual.

There were also the ones who did have sex outside of marriage with other women, men and even children and felt so guilty afterward that they backed that idea.

So, actual Christianity does not preach anything in the bedroom. Christianity is just a biography of some dude named Jesus Christ and he WAS married.

You say "christianity cares" like it is a person. It isn't.

why do they bring their private actions into the public air? It really isn't necessary and to be honest, the image it brings to mind is a bit revolting.

And ... when they bring it into the public forum, they give up the right to have it unregulated. The state has the right to recognize what it chooses. The state is predominantly Christian (75% according to some polls). It seems you miss the point of majority rule.

Passing laws won't change the way people think. Most of us want to do what's right and of course if you happen to be a Christian you use the biblical formula for a guide. I think that God wants what is best for us just like most of our parents do. He gives us a guideline to follow that will give us the most happiness if we follow them. We are given our freedom to choose and every choice has its consequence, good or bad. So you really can do as you please but sometimes it's pretty costly. Not many people will fault you for doing right.

It's a great question about why this is the one thing in our laws that Christians, and other religions, are so opposed to. There's Hasidim Jews in America, and they're not trying to pass laws to make it illegal to eat non-kosher foods. Hindus in this nation aren't trying to pass laws against slaughtering cows.
Why is this one little law being carried so high over more important matters in our nation?

Neither am I. I'd never pass a law like that. There are other things that are way more important.

As far as I am concerned, any time there is love, it's cool. If anyone finds love, I say, "More power to you! We need more love."

As for the spreading stuff on people and licking it off, some people use whipped cream and strawberries. If that's what floats your boat, cool.

I'll pass. The whipped cream has too many fat grams, and we all know about the obesity epidemic.

No offense, Linz. I have issues with fat...on me, not on other peoplel

I suppose what you need to understand is that we believe that there is a power and influence higher than mankind that put certain rules of life into place before we were ever born. That being created everything here and placed us here to live and learn and hopefully to become like He is. In order for that to happen, we have to learn His rules and abide by them. It is His right to dictate to us the rules of life that will allow us to return to Him. No amount of rationalization or sophistry will change the fact and reality of His existence or of His rules. We can humanize all we want, eventually we will break ourselves against His rules. That being the case, we endeavor not only to be obedient but to help everyone else around us to be obedient as well. We do that because to see you living your life contrary to those eternal rules breaks our hearts and causes us great sorrow to know that you are putting yourself in conflict with our creator. Eventually you will have to reconcile your life with those eternal rules and we would rather you do that now than to wait until you are brought before Him in judgment.
So, with that explanation, I hope you will understand a little better where we are coming from and why we try to convince others to live by the rules of life that we have been given, not by man but by God.
