i dnt really know why this is done....i mean in my religion it says that people get punished like this because of something they did in their past life....however i dnt completely agree...i do belive in reincarnation but I believe there is a purpose in having people suffering....maybe its because we are being tested to see how giving we are to those less fortunate than us....maybe we will never know...maybe its just another hurdle for us to go through...

Though many writers in the Bible complained about suffering and evil....the Scriptures make it plain that God did not create the world in the state in which it is now, but evil came as a result of the selfishness of man. The Bible says that God is a God of love and He desired to create a person and eventually a race that would love Him. But genuine love cannot exist unless freely given through free choice and will and thus man was given the choice to accept God’s love or to reject it ... choose 'good' or 'evil.' "War, rape, starvation, and more," is the result of this.
Certainly, God is capable of destroying evil and suffering--but not without destroying human freedom, or a world in which free creatures can function. How do we as Christians respond to the problem of evil? With sorrow. With sadness. With revulsion. With perplexity. With questions that have no answers ... Each of us has had wrong thoughts, evil thoughts. Each of us has done something wrong — something evil. Why does God allow evil within us? None of us deserves to escape punishment, and yet God allows escape, too. If we ask why there is evil, we should also ask why there is mercy. Let us fight against evil and needless suffering, starting with ourselves.

If I assume that there is a God, I think that many many people who live in misery definitely make a strong argument against and all loving God. The only way I can reconcile God with widespread human misery is that God is either somewhat sadistic, powerless to stop human misery or simply doesn't care.

Suffering wasn't God's idea. People CHOSE to become self centered. And that is the cause of most suffering. Don't blame God. Look at your own actions.

Someone had a similar question, and so my post is related-I thought I'd copy and paste it here.
I'll add more at the end
You have the concept mixed up. God allowed free will and it's solely our actions and greed that has caused suffering. God did not. God gave us everything we needed on Earth, and countries in turn grow wealth like it grows on trees, hoard all the natural resources and keep it away from others.
Do you have any idea the millions the governments make on pills? Know how many people we could feed if everyone dealt with their headaches and gave their pill money to a child?
WE are the ones turning a blind eye, not God. God is waiting for us to take action and help each other. We are all here to learn from our suffering, and you've learned nothing at all if you feel continuing it is the progress the souls supposed to make. That is backwards.
The soul makes progress when the soul is compassionate, and helps out one another. This world could seriously be a paradise-but we destroyed it.
Did you know if we shut down all the meat factories in the world -that would heal the ozone, even though all the cars and vehicles would still be running?-It's true..that's a lot of pollution and damage.
God can't zap us all into submission , he can't force us to do what is right-it's up to us.
On oprah there was a lady, yesterday-who was diagnosed with cancer. She told everyone that it changed her life. for the better!!
She learned to live in teh present-she started getting a positive outlook, eating healthy, and trying different healing techniques-she said she was NOT suffering from cancer- and they started to stabilize.
her positivity changed her outlook, changed her life!-Instead of suffering she learned to LEARN and GAIN.
She passes on her wisdom to others, to help them. That we don't have to give up on things, we first help ourselves be better people, and then help others-b.c God is in each of us-and we have two hands to help with. Use em.
Rape and beatings is a result of human actions-God isn't to do with it, but we CAN learn from it and try to solve it-or we can suffer and STAY victims. Your choice.
God wants US to feed the hungry-but instead we bought an IPOD....it's totally our fault.
It's like the concept- the devil made me do it. We are always looking to blame someone else so we don't hav eto work or take the responsibility to do anything-so why not blame God? Well, we will never solve anything then.

I think that suffering really is a concept we need here on Earth- b.c without pain we have no way to know what pleasure is...Without Hate we cannot love-without someone starving we CANNOT be compassionate! we cannot show our strength if we never have obstacles...
We'd never challenge ourselves to do better..We'd be lazy souls with no progress-This is why I do believe in reincarnation-after heaven-if choosing this.
That way the soul can continue learning form a new perspective, or they can stay in paradise.
I like choice.

The only way to be rid of it now, is for all to know Jesus as their savior and all pray as one. We know that's not going to happen so will just have to wait until Jesus comes again. The cause of suffering is sin. If Eve just would have left that apple alone, if lucifer hadn't been cast out of heaven, if.....And when we say it's God's fault, it's not. You want to blame someone, blame satan and rebuke him to stay out of your life! God has given us the right to choose, yet too many stay on the wrong side of the fence. They cannot see the glory awaiting us on the other side.

Until we are convinced that a human is not allowed into heaven, we will continue in misery and not know why.
