How is that freedom of choice when it is the same thing as a gun to your head?

It's more like the choice to sit around and smoke pot when you're a teenager and a young adult, and be poor for the rest of your life; or go to school, get good grades, get a good job and live comfortably for the rest of your life. Life puts this gun to everyone's head, in a sense. But you are still free to make the wrong choice. I know because I made that choice, and I can testify to you that it was my own free choice: no one made me do it. In fact, people tried to talk me out of it.
All of life is this way. You are given the choice of putting forth an effort to achieve health, wealth, skill, knowledge, happiness, what have you. And also the choice of not putting forth any effort, and being stuck with loneliness, poverty, ignorance, etc. Everyone knows the right choices, but plenty of people still choose the wrong ones, out of laziness or pride: they don’t want to work, and they don't want to be told what to do.
In regard to God, the choice is whether to submit to his will, obey your conscience and do what is right; or defy his will, disobey your conscience and do what you know is wrong. If you choose the latter, knowing the alternatives, you can't claim lack of freedom.

God (if there is one) didn't give humanity freedom to choose...he/she/it gave humanity the ability to reason. Reasoning is a far different animal than choice. One also has to look at the times that this crap was written down...Lawlessness was the rule of the land and the various feudal lords needed to develop a means to keep the pesantry in line hence the concepts of risk and reward were tweaked into ideas about heaven and hell. Reason that being a good person will have rewards NOW and in the future. Reason that being a bad person will result in punishment in the now and guilt for a lifetime...PEACE!

It simply means that choices have consequences as do all things in life... or death matters. If God would not send people to Hell for their unbelief and disobedience, why send Jesus there to suffer our punishment? God demands perfection and holiness to live in Heaven...Jesus' suffering and atoning death on the cross was the only way for us to attain that. All we have to do in return is believe in Him and follow His teachings to have eternal life. It's a free gift to us.

You are presenting a false dichotomy. It is not like a gun to your head. The God that I believe in created all men. By accepting his forgiveness, he will grant eternal life in his presence (Heaven). If you refuse his forgiveness, and choose not to obey him, then you will spend eternity without God -> Hell.
Any christian and possibly many jewish people will tell you as much.
