I certainly think there are hellish planets where we can take birth to suffer the results of sinful actions. But not forever. The very idea that after one life here on earth, we either go to paradise and live in eternal bliss *forever* or go to hell and live in eternal agony *forever*, is, in my opinion, ridiculous. How can anyone justify such a merciless notion? I'm not looking to be convinced of your dogma here, I'm just wondering how anyone can possibly hold such a ludicrous idea in their head.

Does just saying God made everything relieve you of continuing your study of our universe. Medicine, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Arts, are these subjects all solved for you and you no longer spend any passionate time gaining knowledge about?

People grive over miscarriages.
Men, i.e. Scott Peterson can be charged for murder for the death of an unborn baby.
Abortion is a conscious decision to commit these acts yet they have different consequences. Why?

(This is not based on my opinion. You will not find my opinion in this question. It is just an attempt to generate discussion and hear different perspectives of logic.)

I'm from South Texas, and I typically get annoyed at the terrible "texan" accents that people use. I think it's just awful when people listen to George Bush and think that's the way we talk, or like Eastern Southern States. I know there are some people in Western/Northern Texas that draw out their words and say y'all a lot, but not everyone in Texas is like that.

So what do you think of a Southern Texas accent, if you've heard one?

ever since i was a child i have had dreams about the rapture and the tribulation. im talking dreams that when you wake up you are scared to death and fell like your still there.my first one was when i was 11. im 26 now. i have them all the time. i could never explain them all but ive had them from the sky splitting and jesus coming and i see the christians leaving, graves bursting open TO the mark of the beast and the people breaking in your home and dragging you away. terrible stuff that i dont want to be here when it happens. ive been brought up in a christian home my whole entire life and i have faith in god and love him with all my heart, but why am i having these dreams?? why me. one after one they get worse. my last dream was i was laying in bed and it started shaking and the demons where trying to get to me from under the bed and i looked in the doorway with his arms stretched open i said god help me and they went away!! ????????

as a western 22 yr old new convert to islam (im caucasian, american)....im wondering, if i start wearing hijab, would it be less eye-catching in the US to wear hijab but under a cute hat? i think this transition to hijab might be easier for me because i would get less stares and also b/c it would be less shocking to my christian family, but would it seem like i am rejecting islamic tradition by pairing the hijab w/ something western (by a western hat, i don't mean something stupid like a cowboy hat but rather something normal and matching)? my goal is NOT to attract attention to myself, which is the purpose of hijab. im interested in people's thoughts, serious answers only please, thanks.

p.s. i got the idea from this REALLY cute hat/hijab pic linked below:

Is sprinkling or full immersion valid? Where does it say in the bible?

I believe in full immersion. But I was baptized as a baby by sprinkling - before the age of accountability - before I could choose Christianity for myself. Now I want to go get re-baptised by immersion.

I hear a lot of Chrisitans 'frowning' on interacail marriage. Why? Moses married a Black women (Zipporra). Also, the Bible does not discourage interacail marriage. So, why do so many Christians dis-like it so much? Thanks for reading.

White people are a damn trip. They will quote bible versues and tell you to accept people for who they are, or they want you to believe that "they" are not the one's responsible for the hatered of what their ancesotrs did, but even still today they are playing with fire with some of their idiotic pranks.
Dont white people know that they have to pay for what their ancesotors, just like everyone else. Even today blacks are still psycologically and econmically facing the same challenges of their ancestors. White people have to understand that the legacies and financial prosperity that was acquired by their forefather; they are reaping the benefits today and this legacy has given them a head start over blacks. Black have made strides in education, but what if we had the old money that was left from slavery and handed down throught generation, i know for sure that we would not have any complaints and we would probably be singing the same song as you white people.

For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. - Ecc. 9:5

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and RECEIVE his mark in his forehead, or in his hand ... he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb
And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Rev. 14:9-11

AND:

His spirit departs, he returns to the earth; In that very day his thoughts perish. Ps. 146:4

Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. Mt. 25:41

Ephesians 4: 15-16
But holding to truth in love we may grow up into Him in all things, who is the Head, Christ

Out from whom all the Body, being joined togethr and being knit together through every joint of the rich supply and through the operation in the measure of each one part causes the growth of the Body unto the building up of itself in Love"

Share something on this matter. How do you see this verse as a member of the body of Christ? How does this verse translate into your practical church experience where you meet?

Ty all for the time taken to respond:)

For my atheist friends, let's first ASSUME there IS a God. Let's take it from there...
Suppose God visits you and tells you that you have been chosen to perform a special task. You have to come up with an action plan which can help bring Christians, Jews and Muslims together in tolerance. It would be a very long-term plan but you have to take the first, meaningful step.
What would you suggest?

I'm a 51 year old man with Parkinson's Disease. Less than two years ago, I heard something on National Public Radio about learning a second language.
Some researchers believe they have evidence that suggests learning a second language activates synapses in the brain that were previously inactive.
The researcher discussing this said it has positive implications for those with Alzheimer's and possibly with Parkinson's also; thus my interest in learning another language.
I have some experience with German, but that was over 30 years ago in high school. However, when I reviewed some free software for German, I was quite surprised how much I recalled. So I'm leaning toward it, but I don't know if that will challenge my brain enough to activate anything.
But I don't want too great a challenge, because I may become discouraged. So I'm seeking advice.
Please, recommendations for learning methods too: success rate, ease of use, convenience and cost being the most important factors.
