Does just saying God made everything relieve you of continuing your study of our universe. Medicine, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Arts, are these subjects all solved for you and you no longer spend any passionate time gaining knowledge about?

Do not assume that I do not believe in God and Christ because I asked this question. Nor should you infer that I am classifying believers as unintelligent.

I do not enjoy the rating system here. am man gives an honest answer from his heart and mind and others feel compelled to rate it. Where do you get off?

cadisneygirl76 - If you can get past your anger and review the short cuts I added here you will see that I am trying to make a very "PRO" Christian argument. I hope to elevate the respest for all people on this forum. with a Higher level of respect more can be gained.

it depends on what inspires you about God and creation. some people understand that God created everything and that is enough there are other things God has them focused on. for those like me who love science and have never been able to separate God and science study it all the time. space/time, the laws of physics and thermodynamics...it is amazing to me how infinite the mind of God is.

Old guy: Any believer should be a true, genuine and devoted follower after true science. Countless people spend countless decades in researching the Holy Bible for instance. These scholars are very well educated within the sciences such as, Archaeology, Paleontology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Historians, Physics etc., etc. What genuine and true Science does, is further the validity of the Holy Bible. The Dead Sea Scrolls collaborate the authenticity of the Holy Scriptures. This conclusion was arrived at by science and history researchers, alike. Look at it all this way.
God is not going to pass judgement on a world without allowing the people access to provable knowledge concerning His written word - the Holy Bible. God provides us all, with the "where with" - the knowledge through the sciences to know. As a matter of fact, Christians are exhorted to "grow in both, grace and knowledge" (Second letter of Peter, chapter 3, verse 18 ). Paul the Apostle was a very well educated man of his day. Educated in the finest Jewish institutions of higher learning, which would be equivalent to a Masters Degree in today's terms.

It is evident that God created everything, we just do not say it for fun or for amusing anybody. We still study because we need to study in order to earn a living. We just try to know how much we can understand God's creation. Although it is difficult to understand all these.
The scientists say that the human body is nothing but a combination of chemicals. OK here it is a set of chemicals, tell the scientists to make a human being as effecient as me and you.
We all know that the scientists cannot do that.

Just because I believe that there was a Higher power that had a hand in creating the universe does not give me an excuse to NOT seek further knowledge where ever I can find it!
And I am VERY grateful that brave men and women that lived before us didn't let religious convictions stop them for seeking knowledge either. If they had the world would still be in the DARK AGES, now would it not?
Blessings!

I'm not interested in science. But I know that it will work whether I know how it works or not. Gravity will still be in effect whether I know the laws of gravity or not. I am horrible at math, too inept at science to create any kind of medicine... history is good though. History is the subject for dumb people like me. All we have to do is spend time reading books and we can know as much as any Harvard professor. Science though is boring and you need to do experiments and all that crap.

yeah right. a true christian knows that science only supports the Bible, it doesn't trash it. And God loves music, think about david, who played the harp (which i also happen to play). David said in psalm 100 to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Music, art, dancing, etc... they are all forms of worship, if used in the right way. obviously, any media can be misused to bring dishonor to God, but there is a connection and peace you can achieve when practicing the fine arts for the glory and praise of God.
God is infinitely knowledgeable, and he wants us to thrive on this earth, even if it is not our real home. He made the universe, and he delights when we yearn to learn more about it. i believe heaven will be like an enormous Barnes & Noble :D

I believe in creation, but that does not mean that I don't study the universe. I believe that God created the universe, so yes I like to study it. But in doing so, I still have not found anything to make me change my mind about creation. Astronomy and the study of the universe, as well as other scientific branches of study, is very interesting to me. I have studied Humanities, Science, and Medicines, but I am bad at math and the arts have no interests for me. I gain knowledge about the things that interest me, but as far as creation, yes it is solved for me.

I would love to put the knowledge of people like you who claim that christians dont study things like science, to the test.
I bet a lot of christians would beat your scores on these tests.
The arrogance of questions like these just amaze me. Do you really think you are more knowledgable on all these subjects than all or even most other christians?
There just might be a good reason why people would infer exactly what you are telling them not to infer.

i love a song by andre crouch. were it is about if God did not exist would i still live how i am. yes. why cause living the way i am now i am so much better and happier. i believe in God and dont need proof at all. and if there was proof he did not exist that was concrete i would still believe and live how i am. how i was i was always unhappy and mad and a mess. now i am great and always happy. and now so many things are coming out that the Bible says will. and so many things are proving the Bible. like a world wide flood, implants now. and usa is trying to pass that we all have to have one. right now they are making it a choice that you have to choose that or the national id card. but they are showing why an implant is the only way and not a id card. so i can see that being dominant. it is the real id card or national id card. all states are supposed to have it by 2009 mar.

No.
A belief in divine creation just explains origins. It doesn't give an instant knowledge of all of science.
It can be argued that modern science owes its existence to Christianity. Scientists of the renaissance were both scientists and theologians. They knew that the universe was created by God, therefore they expected it to exhibit properties of being designed. They expected it to be ordered and they set out to discover the rules it follows.
It is said that Kepler described science as "thinking God's thoughts after him". A belief in God as creator actually increases one's interest in science, not decreases it.
