I certainly think there are hellish planets where we can take birth to suffer the results of sinful actions. But not forever. The very idea that after one life here on earth, we either go to paradise and live in eternal bliss *forever* or go to hell and live in eternal agony *forever*, is, in my opinion, ridiculous. How can anyone justify such a merciless notion? I'm not looking to be convinced of your dogma here, I'm just wondering how anyone can possibly hold such a ludicrous idea in their head.

I believe in hell and I believe in heaven. I believe that because I am a christian, I've taken classes on religion, and I've read the Bible. I believe that you will pay for your sins in this life in the after life, if you are an evil person. By evil I mean murderers, rapist, child molesters, and such. I also believe in something similar to karma. You take in what you put out. There is a reason for everything that happens. What I believe in keeps me grounded and on the right path. I cannot imagine not believing in what I do and to me not believing is not only sad but ludicrous.

Well, I agree, the ideas are not only ludicruous, but sorely lacking. I honestly think that any true God-knowing individual would never DARE to attribute such a thing as hell and damnation onto the Infinite One, our LOVING Heavenly Father, who is all merciful. God doesn't break his own laws like some hypocrite. So, I'm with you about that hell thing.

I think God offers correctional rehabilitation when and where needed, and the will-creature may choose to reject that... if they do, and do so continuously, then they may choose cessation ... to become as if they never were. But I feel this is something that most people do not understand and therefore would not be willing to entertain...they can not identify with such potent and perfect love as a God who doesn't punish the way people do, or worse than people do.

I definitely agree -- this is one of many ideas I do not share with my fellow Christians.

Assuming that both Heaven and Hell exist, as well as a compassionate and all-understanding God, *and* putting aside religious affiliation, I cannot imagine anyone so bad that they could be sent to an eternal Hell. Serial killers, pedophiles, and the like of today's society aren't normal people -- something's mentally wrong, and for this, I can't really imagine that God would turn them away from Heaven because of a defect in their minds. Even Hitler, although his works were atrocious, could not have been a sane man to do what he did. And his Nazi soldiers? Brainwashed into this easy-to-fall-for doctrine of antisemitism in the name of a broken Germany.

And don't get me wrong! I think that these people will still be punished for their sins, but for an eternity? I can't imagine so.

with no need all to into info, i've got suggested it previously and that i will declare it lower back. the wealthy get richer via being sensible with their money. The few undesirable who get poorer and stay that way, barring somebody who somewhat has themes including a incapacity or such, do exactly not want to do from now on useful for themselves. I surely have lived paycheck to paycheck, being broke in any respect circumstances and have additionally lived and survived at or under poverty tiers, all of the whilst making my lease and vehicle fee. i become eating distinctive Ramen noodles yet I did it. determining to purchase a "forty" and a dimer usual, making babies at each threat love that's a trophy thang, and then complaining approximately how undesirable they are would not decrease it with me.

Your argument is flawed. You simply use pejoratives to describe the opposing belief. You're not proving anything.

IOW, on what basis other than your own feelings do you hang your beliefs about eternity? If it's just your opinion, then why should it matter to anyone else?

Yes it is B.S. Just like you boss telling you if you don't do your work perfectly then he will fire you, and you wont know how well you do until after you retire. I think some cruel leaders invented hell to control people and to make them depended on their church and leaders and follow their rules with a non verifiable threat.

People who drank the Kolaid also believed in hell. I wont drink the Kolaid.

Just because you refuse to believe in its existence does not imply that hell is not real. I just hope you wake up to the truth before it's too late.

Damien,

Hell does not exist but right here on Earth.

So, yes, I do think it's B.S.
