I don't know anyone in our language department that I could ask, and its alot harder to find Internet converters for dead languages than i thought

What did you have to lose? If the loss is greater than than the gain, what rational explanation, pscyhologically, physically, can explain an attempt to willing attempt it. i.e. mental disease, extortion...

She has spent her last couple of questions equating a belief in God to mental retardation, and she's entitled to her opinion no matter how juvenile... but to act superior like that... does that equal the qualification of a troll? Trying to disguise an insult as a debate? Just curious if anyone else espouses her beliefs? My guess is that she has managed even her fellow atheists who tend to be a little more secure with their belief and will at least admit, they have no more answers than those who believe in God do.

why does He pray in the Garden of Gethsemane when He's bleeding from every pore? Why does He beg His Father to remove the cup from the lips if He is the Father? Why does He say "Not my will, but thine own" if they're the same person?

Just so I avoid some of the angry mobs, I know it's impossible to avoid them all, I have read the Bible, a few times, I'm just reading this part now, and I've never understood it, and I've asked different people, and they don't really answer my question, so I'm just looking for what other people think

If you were going to be killed for your beliefs in the Lord, would you still serve Him or would you deny Him?

I have heard this asked many times before among Christians and I am reminded of school shootings and other tragic events where people were asked Did they love God or believe in God and then were killed because they said yes. I can't imagine denying my Lord for any reason even if it meant me dying! I know one can never know truly till put in that position but would like to hear your thoughts! God bless you all!

During the Seventh Crusade, led by St. Louis, Yves le Breton reported how he once encountered an old woman who wandered down the street with a dish full of fire [In the Islamic version, it's a torch] in her right hand and a bowl full of water in her left hand. Asked why she carried the two bowls, she answered that with the fire she would burn up Paradise until nothing remained of it, and with the water she would put out the fires of Hell until nothing remained of them: ''Because I want no one to do good in order to receive the reward of Paradise, or from fear of Hell; but solely out of love for God.''

Today, this properly Christian ethical stance survives mostly in atheism.

As it is...it looks like they are going to support an adulterer who's been married 3 times - or a guy whose religion is even wackier than their own. And obviously neither are against killing even more people just to try and save face.

Here Jesus says the real Jews are HIS followers and the disbelieving Jews are the synagogue of Satan and are NOT THE REAL JEWS.

Jesus also promises the believers (who are now called CHRISTIANS) that the disbelievers (who are now called JEWS) will grovel at their feet as a symbol that Jesus Loves his people.

Yahoo Answers is a great way to disseminate information.
But I see a lot of 13 yr olds in Yahoo Answers getting answers from worldly adults. I believe many adults who answer questions don't take a moment to determine whether or not the questioner might be an impressionable 13 yr old.
Overall would you say yahoo Answers is a force for Good or Evil

It just seems to me that if God created every life form exactly as it exists today an there was no evolution...well, it seems like God was pretty sneaky about it, since he made it LOOK like things evolved.

I mean, every mammal (all of which, according to evolution, would have a common ancestor) has basically the same skeletal structure. Skull, backbone, two pairs of limbs...you'd think that if he wanted to spice things up a bit, he might have given a few critters three pairs of limbs. You know, a bird with wings, arms and feet, or something. There wouldn't be any point of sticking with the same old boring framework all the time, would there?

Then you've got things like whales and dolphins and manatees and whatnot. Sure, they've got flippers instead of hand or paws, but the skeletal framework of the limbs is still basically the same. If he just created everything, why bother with all the finger bones and such? All that did was make evolution look like a good possibility.
