If you were going to be killed for your beliefs in the Lord, would you still serve Him or would you deny Him?

I have heard this asked many times before among Christians and I am reminded of school shootings and other tragic events where people were asked Did they love God or believe in God and then were killed because they said yes. I can't imagine denying my Lord for any reason even if it meant me dying! I know one can never know truly till put in that position but would like to hear your thoughts! God bless you all!

I could not before when I was young and it bothered me that God would ask me to. I believed that He would understand me if I deny following Him. But now that I have grown Spiritually, I can say that I would die for Him because I have no doubt that He would receive me in Heaven.

I have heard the story about the girl who answered yes and was then killed. I do not think this is a good story to teach our youth. If some madman has a gun to your head and you might be able to save your life by saying what the lunatic wants to hear, my advice is say what he wants. Trust me God is big enough to take it. I don't think we should teach our children to lay down their lives senslessly to a mentally ill gunman. Do you believe your witness to the gunman will save his soul when he kills himself moments later? Do you believe God will still love you if you deny him to save your life in a horrible situation? Did God still love Peter when he denied him several times? YES! And he didn't even have a gun to his head. Any parent that would prefer their child say "I love God" and take a bullet in the head instead of say "I deny him" and live is SICK! The measure of your faith should not be what will you say to a madman. Maybe it should be what do you say to everybody everyday.

In the Soviet Union in 1975, as the communist party cracked down on religious gatherings, a congregation of five hundred was gathered into a church when a group of masked invaders broke in, armed with AK-47s. The intruders demanded, "Every Christian against the wall ready to die for your God, anyone who is not a Christian can leave safely". Sure enough, most of the congregation left, and a small group of a dozen stayed in the church with the gun barrels pointed at them.

The intruders took off their masks, put down their guns and said, "Don't worry, we are Christians too. We just wanted to see if they were"

I hope I would stand. I've always thought that it would be the best way to die, preferably without torture, more like a gunshot to the head. LOL. But Peter was sure that he would never deny Jesus, even with prior knowledge of the events.

I went AWOL from the Navy because I had missed God's will in my life to go to Bible school. But a couple months later when I discovered God wanted me to handle it better I turned myself in.

My military lawyer was amazed when I was found not guilty and said if it was nationaly known my case would have been famous.

But God was not done with me, nor the Navy. they sent me to Virginia to get on a ship for the 1st gulf war and I refused to get on.

Gonna shorten my story here. But eventually I told my commander I would not get on that ship unless they carried me on. And if they did I would not do any duty to further my stay in the Navy. However, I told him I would no longer run either. I would pay my punishment for disobeying God by joining the military when He wanted me elsewhere, but submiting to do His will in my life after taking the punishment for my error.

I told my commander that I was will to be put on water rations, flogged, court martialed, or even executed for treason in time of war, to obey God's will in my life.

Do you think that God is stupid? Even before Peter denied Him, He knows it.. If someone pointing gun over your head or what, and he want you to deny Him, you have to follow the man.
God knows and always understand.

Isn't that something? That in these days, in this modern time, where everyone is supposed to have the right to believe in anything they want to, the Christians are the one's persecuted to death?

I know it goes on in other nations, but they are supposed to be 'backward'. At least to the typical mindset of young Americans they are.

I would not deny my Lord. He has been very good to me. I used to be suicidal, and death still doesn't appear too bad to me. Especially now that I am Christian.

I hesitate to say with certainty what I would do. Look at Peter after his bold proclamations that he would never deny Jesus. I can only pray and hope I would meet and pass this test.

Without a doubt I would stand for Him. The grounds upon which my faith is build are strong enough that I can say 100% for sure, my believes are worth dying for.
