general religion, no certain religions or denominations. People can be rational or irrational, but because they are religious...does that make them irrational or rational? Or non-religious, whichever you prefer to state.

On another website, someone stated that they felt religious people were often more rational than those who weren't. I felt that that was the biggest slice of bologna ever.

I used to do gymnastics when I was in highschool. When I was in college, I used to do le parkour, and do rollerblading tricks on ramps.

I don't know much about yoga, I think it's like a religion or something, so I always stayed awayw from that.

This new friend of mine tells me he's been doing yoga for years, I told him I didn't want to know about it.
But today, he wanted to impress me showing some of the positions he could do.
Me being an ex-gymnast, I was not at all impressed, and I showed him how I could do the same. Then he started me showing some more positions, and I was able to do all of them on the first try.

Some positions I had never done anything similar in gymnastics, but I had no trouble doing them.

It was very fun! But I think there's more to yoga than just positions. I think there's some religious background to that.

Should I just stop, or should I learn more about yoga?

Sounds like a sick scene in a an old horror movie. How can any kind of blood make anything clean, white or pure? Do these blood cults really believe this stuff? Years of working in surgery show that blood doesn't make anything clean, white or pure. Neither does death, willing or not.

Is it that easy to change our disposition or inclinations? Or is there supernatural power available in the universe that changes these feelings?
Of course, atheists will say either that they don't have these feelings or that these feelings are okay to have. But the natural result of feelings is actions so do you rigidly control these feelings that you cannot change or what do you do with them?

What are some initial steps that a person interested in the Catholic faith take?

I feel drawn to Catholicism as of late, because the fallacies of my own religion (wicca) are starting to bother me intensely. I grew up a Baptist, but lost interest in the church due to the endless ranting of my pastors. Catholicism seems extremely orderly, devotional, and ritualistic. Please point me in the right direction.

The US House of Representatives on September 13 voted to award His Holiness the Dalai Lama the Congressional Gold Medal, the nation's highest civilian honor. The award in recognition of the Dalai Lama's advocacy of religious harmony, non-violence, and human rights throughout the world and for his efforts to find a peaceful solution to the Tibet issue though dialogue with the Chinese leadership. The bill enjoyed broad bipartisan support, with 387 cosponsors drawn from both political parties in the House and Senate, representing more than two-thirds of Congress. President Bush presented the medal at a congressional ceremony.

Personally, I think it is wonderful and don't question His Holiness' motives at all. But, I have heard some rumblings which question his motives for accepting such an honor from a "war mongering" President (Bush). The idea being that Bush is using the His Holiness for political gain and that His Holiness is too naive to realize it. Any thoughts?

Aren't you scared about growing old? I mean, I'm terrified. I'm gonna be fat and ugly and a cranky ***** whose life is completely worthless. All I have is my appearance, I'm stupid in school, and I'm not especially a nice person or talented for that matter. My plan was always to be a stripper or marry an old guy but what if that doesn't work out? Nonjudgemental advice please?

I am referring to Noah, his family and the rest of all the animals that were pact in his Ark during the flood. It would be very impossible for them animals including Noah, to survive the eight months ordeal seclussion in the Ark and not experiencing health hazzard. When God decided to create a woman in the Garden of Eden, He put Adam into deep sleep. I believe that was what God did also to Noah, his family and rest of animals in the Ark. In that way all creatures there didn't need to heed to the call of nature; therefore the Ark remained tidied and clean. The whole concept of the Ark represented the jewel box. In the Ark, were the selected creation of God that would give offsprings for the new world after the flood. These animals were selected by Angels before hand while Noah was building the Ark. Also from Noah's offspring who is Shem, from his line will come the covenant line like Abraham, leading down to David and down to Jesus. the Messiah. What do you think of that?

lets see!!!!!! things grow and evolve because cells devide and multiply! ok , so far we are all on the same page.

but then there is a book ,written over and over again ,by men only! written about a being that is a ghost ,never sleeps ,never eats , never speaks,never comes through with his grand plans! he sees all ppl of the world at the same times,knows all the bad things that everyone is doing simultaniously and has no problem sending his beloved flock to the wrorld of a fallen Angel or two with goat hoofs and horns and special tricks up it's sleeve to torture us heathens! and he (the ghost ) will judge us! and then comes the question of intelligence !!!!!!! sorry ,folks ,but I can't find it anywhere! the only intelligence here is my cell devision I can actually watch under a microscope! God ,is just no where to be found - ever ! NOT EVEN UNDER THE MICROSCOPE!

intelligent design is just another way of saying EVOLUTION without saying evolution!
