Ok...I don't know where to start but I will try to make sense. I won't go into much detail about the story but try to understand my point. There was a woman who murdered her three children back in the 80's and she claimed she always had a desire to murder people as far back as she could remember, even as a young child. My question is, if she ALWAYS had a desire to murder, then why did God allow her to have this desire if children are born "perfect"? Not everyone has this desire to murder, but there are one's who do and I wondered why God allows them to have this desire as young children.

My muslim friend wants me to read Quran, just so i can see the difference between Bible and Quran,but I am not sure if its a right thing to do.

I think there is a compromise but some folks are refusing to be open minded to new ideas and possibilities.

I think the world is about 5 billion years old, and I think God also made the world in 6 days, resting on the seventh day. How can I reconcile both beliefs? Simple. God's days are not the same as our days. Maybe we are in the middle of God's day 8 (whatever) after he started to make the world?

Is Diwali becoming over-commercialised with every passing year? Are age-old traditions making way for modern practices like greeting cards, gambling, etc.? Or are we too steeped in tradition to realise that change is inevitable?

A while back I was on a forum and there was a religious debate and one of th debaters was Jewish and she would write G-d. She even explained how it was a form of respect. Cool, right? I never knew that until then.

Anyways, another debater after that would write God with the o underlined, assuming to make a point that she thought it was respectful not to change his name.

Was she rude to underline the o?

Just looking to see your opinion, I thought she was rude cause she did it on purpose, not because it's how she would always write it like the Jewish person would.

During my last year of college,I had a sexual relationship with this guy.It didn't end all too well because he claimed that he thought I was me who had been prank calling his phone.Anyhow, after he did accuse me of that we still continued to sleep with each other, I called him, he called me, there was no problem until suddenly I text message him about something I left at his house and he tells me to not call him anymore and threatens to tell people we mutually know about our relationship. And that he will put a restraning order against me and that He said he would'put my business out in the street" so the next day I get a call from one of his close friends whom never calls me inviting me to his event.This particular friend happens to be his best friend and who happens to be one of the members of the club I tried to join)so she invites me to his event, but I didn't go, and so everytime I see her school she ignored me, he ignores me, I'm feeling bad, feeling like I did something wrong

I try to reach out to her to wish her happy birthday, and congratulations on her performance at a school event ad I get ignored, I see him at school he ignores me, then I see him again and he smiles and calls me over so we can talk, but I tell him I have to go to class, but wish him luck.The other members of the club speak to me , another member even gave me a hug, so i guess my question would be should I still try to join the club even though my reputation might have been ruined by me having a relationship with him

I just can't understand why “Christians" ignore the Old Testament law and say "Jesus died for our sins, so the Old Testament law doesn't apply to us” Then when it comes to things like Gays and Witches they use the Old Testament laws to condemn.

JESUS taught us to love one another! He also taught us not to Judge others!
Can you find me a scripture where JESUS himself condemns Gays and Witches? Not the words of one of his disciples or a man who was a tax collector and was blinded but the words of JESUS!

Hey, I have been thinking alot about the concept of evil lately, and I have some questions to ask! :)
1. What exactly is evil? Can can we define it?
2. How can we judge evil? - Perceptions etc
3.The origions of evil - is it orgional sin?
4. Christianity and Evil. Is evil somewhat the basis of christianity?
5.Free will and evil- is it because of free will that evil exists?
and my final one, which I am most interested in - Why evil isnt nessescarly such a bad thing.

If anyone has any links that they could share with me, or any theologist sites that I can read up on, it would be great! Thank you! :)

I am thinking about filing paperwork to seek an annulment for my first marriage through the Catholic Church - I have remarried to someone else since in a civil ceremony but I would like to receive the sacrement of communion again.

If you're Catholic and have been through the Catholic annulment process, I would love to hear your story. (NOTE: Please - no "Catholic bashing" answers from anyone who is NOT Catholic or does NOT believe in the annulment process - I have been struggling emotionally with this decision, and I really just want to hear the experiences of people who have been through this before.

My diocese (Nashville) does not charge anything for an annulment, BTW.

So at the homecoming dance, I was having a great time. And I got pulled into a line and I just kept dancing. I did not do any hands on knees or bend over, but lets just say momma would not be totally proud of me. And I realized that some guy from our news broadcast at school filmed us dancing and now I'm so scared it's going to be in the show. I'm a pretty conservative person, so if it does show up, it will definitely hurt my rep. If it does, how should I handle it?

2 Timothy 3:16-17 is often quoted to justify the doctrine of sola scriptura: "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."

What does "inspired" (literally, "breathed") mean? Is it only scripture that God inspires, or does he inspire teaching, writings, or other works besides scripture? If only scripture is inspired and scripture was completed in the first century, does God no longer inspire teaching, writing, or other works?

In survivor the flight attendant guy said he was a gay mormon. Desperate housewives just had 2 guys say they were gay mormons.

Ok wait a sec
You can say you are gay and be a good standing mormon but you cant practice homosexual behavior and really be a good standing mormon.
What is up with these tv shows?
Does any other mormon find this a bit odd or humorous or confusing?
