You are the Master & you have just recieved a new student. What would be the first three things you would share with your student. What would be the last. I would like to hear from Pagans, Wiccans, as well as Mystics of all systems. Thanks for answering.

Prairie Crow, it is a paradox that the more we learn the less we know. For me it seems that the closer I get the farther I have to go, till I have found that every step is on my way home. Thank you.

The first thing I'd tell them would be that they already have all their answers inside them that perhaps I could help them draw those answers out but only if they were ready to accept those answers.
The next thing I would tell them is that I'm as much their student as they are mine and in fact I dislike the terms teacher and student and consider team seeking to be a partnership of equals even if one may have more information than the other. It is after all the experiences that help us not the knowledge in the long run.
The last thing I'd tell them is that no matter how much respect you have of anyone no one gets it right all the time. A personal failure is always to be expected when dealing with humans even if such humans were Jesus, Buddha or some other legendary figure. We expect perfection to readily from those unable to deliver it but who are wise enough to get us further on our spiritual path than others. Odd how we do that.

As someone who thought she knew it all at age 20, knows,at age 49, that the older she gets, the less she knows. I can't be the master, I have too much to learn myself. I would hope though to teach by example. As a solitary Wiccan I would share the following:
Harm none
Never make a negative comment regarding any other religion
Mind your business and keep your mouth shut unless you're witness to an abusive act toward anyone or anything (animal)
that cannot defend his/her own physical well being.
The last thing my "students" would hear from me will hopefully be... don't grieve for me, I'm going Home, I'll see you later.
You ask excellant questions!!!
Blessed Be
Brigid

On the top of the list I would teach them that no body is a master.
If one is a master, then they have noting left to learn. If you have nothing else to learn then you have taught all that you can on this planet.
Second would be, LOVE and respect everything that exist. This means everything, period. But that does not mean you have to like everything.
3rd would be,Know that your thoughts and emotions are more powerful than you realize. Keep the harsh and negatives to a point of understanding "why" did i feel this way or think this. Then embracing (learn from) it, then let it go.
The very last that I would teach is, Know that you are apart of everything that was and is and will be........
peace and LOVE

It's funny that you ask this now.
I have been 'brewing' an idea for several years now. The whole system of education, worldwide, exists as a result of some rather shady premises, and it has rather burned itself out in most countries.
This has come to a 'head' in my perspective most particularly with the last two, maybe three, generations of children. I refer to those under 40 years at present, primarily.
It is my belief that more an more children are being born more 'awake' than ever before, and that has been increasing exponentially since the end of WW II. This has led to a perception that there are 'difficult' children, they have even invented 'labels' for them 'ADD', 'ADHD', 'Bi-Polar', 'Aspergers Syndrome', even I suspect 'Autism'.
And now we drug them !
This is not acceptable. Not in any way, shape or form.
Thus I have been wrestling with the idea of devising a new form of 'Teaching'.
The many excellent answers given above are very much in tune with the kind of things I am thinking of. We have created a world in which we believe that there are things called 'facts', and then we try to cram the heads of our young with them. The truth is that there are no 'facts' at all, and all data is, to a greater or lesser extent transient. Each new discovery renders obsolete it's predescessor, even in such supposedly 'fixed' areas as linguistics.
All of this activity has stunted our ability to search for ourselves, our innate desire to question is nipped off in the bud, our imaginations are locked down before their wings are even dry.
This applies just as much to the search for spiritual truth, as to 'ordinary' education.
What is needed now is a 'new' approach, one that the true 'Masters' have always known, to get out of the searcher's way, and merely act as a guide to how and where they may want to be searching.
This has been hard enough to find in the spiritual arena, and just about impossible in general education.
So, in the 'light' of all of the above here is what I would do, and the basis of what I am trying to conceive as the basis of a new educational facility :
1. That all 'knowledge is transient, so don't lock on too much to any particular data or sets of data.
2. That everything we need to know is already inside each one of us, and that what is 'true' for one doesn't, necessarily, have to be 'true' for another.
3. That every single human being is perfectly exactly what they are supposed to be, and that they 'lack' nothing, nor 'need' anything.
The last thing I would share with any student would be to thank them for allowing me to learn from them.
Thanks for asking. :-)))

Here are the three things.
1)That truth is in each one of us so don't expect all the answers from me or seek confirmation in me.
2)Everything is possible, even if it contradicts logic
3) You are free and you will be with me for as long as it is necessary; one day you'll leave with more knowledge than I have so don't attach to anything or anyone.

2) I would teach the political and moral implications of the core mythology.
3) I would teach the spiritual and philosophical interpretation of the mythology.

Who would the teacher really be? In most situations, it seems that both are teacher and both are students. We have so much to learn from each other.

I would teach them to ask questions, seek answers, and to never accept something just because someone (including me) told them so. I would urge them to come to a better understanding of what it is they seek and what they believe and how to best address it. I would teach that religion should conform to belief; one should not force their beliefs to conform with religion.
