I think part of the problem with sinning is that we don't want to share it. We think if we say sorry, then we can keep getting away with it. Wrong. Repent isn't a license to sin. It means discontinue. John the Baptist said: repent and be baptized. When we talk to others about our problems we have a friend that will help us over come. Talk about what your problems are with a person you trust. We are on earth to prove to Heavenly Father that we want to follow him. There is nothing wronge with falling short but you have to be willing to overcome your sins. Jesus Christ proved that it was possible to be perfect. If we are giving in to sin we will be called the children of sin.
Keep that in mind.

Wasting my time reading and answering this question on yahoo! answers.
Hey, confessing sin isn't a problem with sin. By its very nature and definition it is unconfessible. You wouldn't have done the damn thing if you wanted everybody to know, see, and hear you commit this abominable act. So your stuck, my suggestion is don't sin in the first place and if you have and think you got away with it once, don't tempt the fates and do the sin again. Actually not an original suggestion, but worthy of a repeat saying.

Are you answering your own question with your second comment or are you still wanting some "elaboration" or opinion from YA participants? If the latter is true, then I would say that God's seeing you do it doesn't provide the forgiveness you need from committing your sin. Your admission of guilt to Him for your specific sin is what is required. God Bless you.

Confession is the first step of Repentance, it is the act of acknowledgement of ones own sins publicly and to humble yourself. You can confess to yourself also. To recognise you made a mistake to yourself. To be honest, it belongs to the saints and I'm not quite there yet.

That is an interesting questions? And to add to it, what is the RIGHT way to repent? Do you have to go to a priest? Can you go directly to GOD? What is the difference?
I go directly to God, but my church offers the sacrament of confession. My Mom says I should take advantage of that sacrament.
I like going directly to my GOD! Is my slate clean?

forget about god,
you know you did it.
there is no repenting.
You will have to live with the guilt for the rest of your life.
Your only conciliation is that you hopefully learned from your mistake. and that from from NOW on, you will live your life with integrity.

When your parents caught you doing something, you never apologized just because they saw you do it? Repenting is apologizing and saying that you would never do it again!
