First of all, I would like to thank Yahoo! Answers for taking the interests of it's users in mind and creating a fabulous means for us to share our thoughts and wishes, and celebrations. Thank you for making us(Indians and all those who enjoy Diwali) feel comfortable. I regard this answer as a feedback to Yahoo!.

When I first came to this site, I believed that I will get only formal, severe answers to all my questions here. However, besides getting true and proper answers, I also got the beliefs of others, thier feedback about my questions. A lot of variety at once!

Questions of mine were answered well by other users(however properly or badly, they were answers). I anwered others' questions to the best of my abilities and thougts, earning best answers from some, getting thumbs-down from others. The attitude of the people to my answers gave me a better insight about myself, my beliefs, my priorites. This site has helped me to interact with complete strangers better than any other social networking site. It has been even better than a blog for me, and also given me the chance to explore others' thoughts and ideas, without having to fight with spam. I can even complain to people if I want to!

Answers has made me a more well-informed and better person today. I request Yahoo! to carry on with this novel idea and promote it as well as it can. Who knows, this might be the social networking idea of tomorrow...

Diwali festival is celebrated to remove the darkness and bring the lightness to everyone s life. Here the darkness means poverty , superstitious , illiteracy and worries which needs to be vanished and to bring the prosperity , literacy & happiness .

This is the special and awaited day for kids to celebrate as no other festival comes with light & crackers.

My special message in this Diwali is to have a enjoyable & prospered day not only On Diwali but also in all the coming days. Also to play a safe Diwali while firing the crackers.

Thank You!

Diwali is a festival where we look forward to make some one happy. We share our happiness amongst our family members and close friends. We spend more than required money on the celebration to show others that our cracker busting lasted for very long time and we made the loudest noise in the locality. We buy our best to show others that we have spent more money for the new clothings. Of course we distribute sweet amongst our close friends.
How nice it would be if we light one or more hearts who are far below poverty level and they can not afford a stich for thier children. Who can not give a decent meal to thier children. Can we add atleast one soul if not more to our Diwali celebration and light at least one heart with joy on this diwali and share a little out of our lavish expenditure. Can we pick one soul from our own locality and share this Diwali. If every family decides to share this Diwali with one soul who can not have a proper meal on that day. I assure lakhs and lakhs heart will light up and this light will glow longer than the candle lights. I. also request the people to spend less money on burning crackers and specially if you can avoide the loud crackers will be the biggest blessing of this Diwali.
Very special wishes for the Yahoo team who has started such a wonderful ways for all of us to reach our message that godest Saraswati bless you abundantly. Happpy Diwali to all the members of Yahoo Question/ answer team----- Boooom(soft).

Diwali is a festival of lights. We should not take it in a literal sense. It is a festival of lights so decorate our house with lights and play crackers. Instead of decorating our house by spending 1000s for a single day and spending even more on carckers for just a pleasure of few minutes or seconds even if few of us donate the amount saved from this extravagancy it would brighten up many lives. The money we can save can be donated to needy children, homeless old people deserted by their children and other needy people. I do not say that we should break our culture and not follow any traditions but I just want to say to be more pragmatic in our thinking and make this festival of light like a ray of hope for many .
The true spirit of Diwali would be celebrated and we will get good wished straight from the hearts of those whose life we brighten. What else would be considered as true worship by God then lightening up one's life and what else can give us more pleasure then a feeling of content that we did something for the society. Atleast we tried to make a difference even if it's small afterall Bund bund se hi sagar banta hai.
Also in this era where there are so many problems like pollution and global warming atleast by not lightening more crackers we would not increase the level of pollution but do something good.
Wishing you all a very happy and prosperous Diwali.

diwali being a festival of lights is celebrated with enthusiasm n is most awaited festival of the year but this diwali plan something new like helping poor people n giving clothes n foods rather than purchasing crackers as crackers not only harm us but also pollute our enviroment which in long term is going to be very harmful so enjoy this diwali but let it be nature friendly so that we can celebrate more diawalis in the coming year n our future generation can also enjoy it.

Festivals are made for the human being exchange their love by honouring other feelings and encouraging their good human habits. The man only separated as Ramzan, Diwali, Pongal, Christimas, etc. as the humans are separated by them to differentiate with others and make them as he is the best one when compare with others. This is based on the ego. Where is the ego will come as everything created by the Supreme GOD. He is only one for the world. Others are branches from that. Now we can contact one with other from one end of the world to the other and can see, exchange the views. So the festivals are to be celebrated by everyone for free from the stress of the hard work and exchnage happy with others, should not be separated like mountain, sea and others. That is naturals to safe the earth and protect the human beings from other forces.

Now I am coing to Diwali. Now the America is also recognised to celebrate in their country. Why ? Diwali is celebrating for the winning of truth to live everyone in the earth with peace, prosperty against the false.

This is not my opinion. It is based on the principles of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. I am following and conveying through this. Thank you.
