Becoming a "new creature" in Christ, means that Christ transforms us, spiritually, through the power of the Holy Spirit. It doesn't mean we never make mistakes, but we begin to desire God's will, and strive to follow Him, once we receive the Holy Spirit. Go get a Christian Bible and read through it. About homosexuality, there are many parts of the Bible that make it clear that God created woman to be with man, and that homosexuality is considered a corruption of God's design. Jesus taught us to turn away from temptation, so even if you want it, you're still supposed to turn away from it, and obey God by doing His will, not your own.
