both have a kind of 'perfectionist attitude and they both like to talk a lot. It is usually their way or nothing. Just want to know if the ones you know are anything like this. No offense meant to anyone. These person are dear to me but that is the personality they portray. One is actually my mom who I love dearly.

So many Christians read The Bible literally when considering whether of not homosexuality is a sin. Fine. But why don't we do the same when reading ALL the verses in The Bible?

How many of us believe that women need to keep quiet in church?

35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.--1 Corinthians 14:34-35, KJV

Why don't we give up all our possessions and follow Jesus in everything we do?

33(A) So therefore, any one of you who(B) does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.

Are we picking and choosing here? Are most of us more confortable standing up against homosexuality while not giving up all our possessions?

Peace be with you.

God gives peace, healing. God forgives. You can feel all these things instantly. when we pray, God answers in a miraculous way. Have you not seen any miracles happening around you. every day is a miracle, every new born baby is a miracle. every new plant is a miracle. Are these things not enough for you to prove that God is working at all times and He is a living God .

I was catholic for over half my life. I was NEVER taught good works alone save you. I was taught that you must accept Jesus as your savior, you must repent your sins and you must do good works to reinforce the first two. I was taught Jesus died for my sins and the least I could do it pay a little of that back to the world. So where is it taught that good works alone save you? And why do people keep insisting that Catholics believe this?

I was just wondering, I have heard a few Puerto Ricans from time to time say, "Viva Puerto Rico, wepa!" What does that mean? I mean, I know that "Viva Puerto Rico" means "Long live Puerto Rico". But what does "wepa" mean? Is it something specific to Puerto Ricans?

Also, what does "no mames, guey!" mean?

In Hinduism/ Sanatan Dharma we have atleast one GOD/GODDESS per person. And the GOD/GODDESSES have their exclusive carriers like BULL, PEACOCK, RAT. Animal like COWs are reverred being a source of wealth for it's milk etc. what about chicken ? it's food of the millions at the most affordable price, eggs are considered the most compact divine food. why this bird could not find a venerable place in Hindu way of like . Any theory?

Psalm 91 states:
If you make the Most High your dwelling - even the LORD, who is my refuge - then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

Do you know of any Bible characters who faced fears and experienced God's deliverance from them?

I know there is a dichotomy; don't deny it. I've been a christian and I've actually seen christians who quote bible verses and are highly obedient. They do everything by the book and they are indeed good people. But what has left me questioning is, didn't God give us a mind to use? Why can't we think, question, and make actual decisions based on two or more choices?

The other possible kind of Christian would be the one that does have doubts, does err and more likely to admit it, etc.
These christians bring doubt into the fold and help others doubt. They would be a "bad influence" on the young.

In the human perspective, I highly encourage the behavior of the thinking christian; yet, "christians" will shake their head and try to steer newfound christians away from such people. Isn't it highly encouraging to know that we do have brains and capable of thinking, so let's go over some of the doubts... because we are capable. Yet, you will not find this to be the case.
