Romans 3:23 ..."for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...."

You're right, Christians aren't supposed to act like that. But in the end, everyone is human, and we all make mistakes.

I'm not trying to justify that deacon's actions, but I'm not about to agree with your implied generalization that all Christians are violent murderers. :)

It's just that, sometimes people just stumble.

Is it really so hard for people to believe that Christians are human too with human flaws and breaking points? This man will pay for his crime just like any other criminal, but just the fact that he is a Christian does not take from the fact that he is also a flawed human being with the same emotions as anyone else. When a person becomes a Christian, they don't become super-human perfect people like so many would like to think they should.

It most certainly IS a shame. But we don't know if he was a born-again Christian, or a Christian in name only, dear one.

Besides that, Christians are just as human as everyone else. "For ALL have sinned and come short of the Glory of God." That means Christians sin as well as non-Christians. But we are clearly held to a higher accountability than others, as well we should be.

God bless!

I knew a person who had a nickname for deacons.... he called them demons..... we used to laugh about it cause everybody thought it was a funny joke. Then later found out that he was addicted to porn and beating his wife. He was my pastor at church. That said I still believe in God... No one is holy and perfect and all that, some people may think they are, but NO ONE is good in this world. Even those of us that vocally claim to be good.Christian or not though. A killer is a killer!

FIRST.... not everyone THAT CLAIMS... to be Christian... is !

SECOND... how could AMERICANS, A CHRISTIAN NATION...... Abort and MURDER... Over 35-Million Babies ... in the Womb?

THIRD.... Have you... Obeyed God's Command....?

(Acts 17:30-31) Truly, then, God overlooking the times of ignorance, = now He = strictly commands = all men [mankind] = everywhere = to repent,

(Acts 17:31) because He has appointed a day in which He is going to judge the world in righteousness by a Man whom He appointed, having given proof to all by raising Him [JESUS CHRIST]...from the dead.

IF NOT.... WHY... NOT....?

Thanks, RR

This comes from the mistaken concept that Christians are supposed to be perfect. We aren't.

Are you going to use this sad event to paint ALL Christians with a broad brush ?

Proportionately , Christians commit just as many, or more crimes as any other religion or non-religion .
The church also says " Thou shalt not commit adultry " , so you know for sure that absolutely no Christian ever has sex outside of marriage .
