My girlfriend recently converted to Wicca. Which kind of scared me. Not being prejudice or hate mongering toward Wiccans. But I have no clue about the religion. I just know from studies it has to do with Witch Craft. Now can someone tell me a basic beliefs kind of thing. And then explain if Wiccan's believe in reincarnation.

For this is My blood of the NEW TESTAMENT , which is shed for Many, for the REMISSION of sins. But I say unto you I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, UNTIL that day when I drink it new, with you in my Father's kingdom.

... were John Adams and the second Senatorial Congress just lying when they unanimously passed the Treaty of Tripoli?

Treaty of Tripoli
Article 11
"As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion,-as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen,-and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries. Hello. I thought it would be a good idea to post this. Once a week me and some Christian women get together to pray and read scripture. We would like to pray for others. Whatever the reason. It could be for your health or even something like a new rug. It doesn't matter. We do not judge your prayers and what you are asking for. We are all God's children and he wants to provide for us. Just email me with your name and all the details. Be specific. Ex: a durable brown carpet for my living room. We will pray for 4 weeks straight for your prayer request. We ask that during this time you pray too and thank God like you have already received it. Try to spend at least 5 minutes a day with scripture and God refecting and being grateful. Go where He leads you - maybe in service to another? When your prayer does get answered please let us know too so we can give Him heartfelt praise as well. I hope you have a blessed day.

I am sitting here twiddling my thumbs, surfing around the Blog site, and a song just popped into my head. Should I put an advert in the paper?

"I feeling tired of my life
I've been here too long
Like a worn-out recording
Of a favorite song
So while I lie here sleeping
I read the paper in bed
And in the personal columns
There was this letter I read
" "If you like Pina Coladas
And getting caught in the rain
If you're not into yoga
If you have half a brain
If you'd like making love at midnight
In the dunes on the Cape
Then I'm the love that you've looked for
Write to me and escape."
I know I'm a lady
I know that sounds kind of mean
And I should not be doing this
Have fallen into the same old dull routine
So shall I write to the paper?
Take out a personal ad
And though I'm nobody's poet
I thought it wasn't half bad""
"Yes I like Pina Coladas
And getting caught in the rain
I'm not much into health food
I am into champagne
I've got to meet you by tomorrow,

It appears that the Romans got along with those who promoted the idea of sacrifice for sins when Jesus was around... but didn't get along with those who were promoting a complete "transformation" of the person. (reference: Sermon on the Mount)

Three hundred years passed and Constantine picked up on the idea of "sacrifice for sins" but managed to stamp out all the competing factions of Christianity that promoted a real personal transformation of the person.

I guess it's easier to control people who don't change and don't go through a dramatic transformation.

So is this another example of the more things change, the more they remain the same??? .... since Jesus never promoted the idea of sacrifice for sins... not in the Sermon on the Mount and not after the crucifixion either.

But the Romans sure picked up it, and it's been with us ever since!

So is this "sacrifice" Christianity simply a carry over from an old Roman preference?

or is it by being simply a Bible-fundamentalist?

because these Bible-fundies are not considering the Catholics as Christians even though Catholics consider Jesus as Lord and Savior too.

can anyone explain the exclusionist attitude of these Bible-fundamentalists?

There are so many things wrong with American society today, especially with the people, that it's getting annoying just to live here. Sure, you can ignore it, but I've witnessed the following and I witness it daily: major road rage, careless behavior and drug/alcohol/cigarette use, attitude and out to get you mentallities, being bad/fierce is better than being good, on-the-go hectic lifestyles, fights and discrimimnation, overpopulation, pollution, crime, no regard for human life by other people AND by corporations, so you're basically left with no regard for human life at ALL, except by people who care about you.

Kids today are basically the worst.

Yes, good and great people exist despite all this, so if you don't call under these categories, excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me your majesties.

But I'm targeting the ills of society, not you. Don't get offended. :-) thank you, tee hee, ree.

im just being purposefully silly b/c so many people take things personally. :-/

I mean it's alright for you those who are for abortion but only u under certain circumstances to discuss the idea of abortion and how it is only acceptable in cases where the mother is rape. Well, I just have to thank God that my mother wasn't like any of you and even though she was raped she had me anyway and gave me a chance to live. I have lived a fulfilling life like everyone else, graduated high school, went to college, have a husband and a baby. All life should be given a chance.

Why shouldn't we follow our reasoning and logic, and question religion just as much as we question political ideologies and other ideas?

Where would we be without our inquisitive nature? Why sould we question everything else but religion?

Let's assume for a second that God and Satan exist.

What religion causes the most problems in the world?

Anyone who wants you to believe in him(without proof, by the way) and leads you to believe that everyone else who doesn't will face eternal punishment(good and bad) has to be evil right? Gandhi is going to burn forever simply because he was raised Hindu? Where's your sense of empathy?

Let's face it. Christians have amongst the highest crime rates.
http://www.cybercollege.com/fog33.htm
How many Buddhists, Shintoists, and Hindus do you see killing and persecuting people?

Someone who wants you to be good not just for the sake of being good but out of fear has to be evil.

And please no "I know it in my heart" stuff.

I keep reading this nonsense about Catholics not being saved for x, y, and z reasons. But then these same people will turn around and say "But all you have to do is accept Jesus as your savior and repent and your saved!"
So if it's just that easy, and Catholics have done this by the way, what makes YOU saved and not them? Or are you falsifing the "its just that easy" part?

that only by embracing the principals of Discordia can they transcend their limiting, sky-god obsessed neurosis and truly see peace arrive on our planet? If you don't believe me, ask Jesus, because he told me this himself, right after he told me that Oral Roberts and Pat Robertson and pretty much all other Christians are total embarassments to him.

if some people think that your belief in god is a consequence of brainwashing. do you think you should still preach to them.
and what gives you the right to pray for anyone without their consent. to me it smacks of total arrogance. ie i'm better than you because i found god,so i will pray that you will be like me some day.
