This is the point. We should NOT preach to them.
If our lives give non-believer a desire to ask us about the Lord, then we can answer. But until that time, we need to keep our opinions to ourselves -- except through our love for one another.

Interesting . First, I must say the Bible does give an example that agrees with your assessment. It tells about a Pharisee who was praying in the temple and thanking God that he was not like the extortioners etc, or even like "this tax collector", another man who was praying. He went on to tell God how righteous he was. (I fast twice a week, I give the tenth of all things I acquire)
Second, how can someones "fantasy" affect you in any way whatsoever? If you do not believe that God exists, then prayers are nothing more than words. What is that saying about sticks and stones? Why would it bother you so much?
I don't normally announce that I am praying for anyone or do so out loud.
Third, if you sincerely think that my belief in God is a consequence of brainwashing, then you would also believe that I have no control over my preaching so why ask me not to?

I have been accused of being brainwash lately.
Who cares what others think.
I know what I believe and it all makes sense to me.
I will not pray for you as people think praying to god to help them with this problem or that is the answer ,but the only prays that will be answered are those that pray for god's will to be done and guidance to live and act in gods ways.
Jesus commanded that the good news of the kingdom be preached so it is not up to us to judge who we should preach too.

I thought Brad's answer was alright,
except 4 da cussing, & kinda thought it was a lil' humorous.
But, to each his own.
Anyways, until I came into the truth, I Always and in all ways,
thought ppl that prayed, were um...touched in the head.
U know Bible thumpers, like what Brad said.
Like u said "what gives them the right w/out consent,"
how true, so very true.
Like racykitty, I don't pray 4 others. Unless asked to. I do pray 4 God's will to be done. Also, 4 those that are in need of His strength, guidance & mercy, and other such proper things to ask 4.
Still Preach & Teach the Kingdom of God U ask ?...
ABSOLUTELY, YES.
Not all would listen to Jesus,
that Didn't stop him, from doing the will of the Father.
To all who would listen. Jesus did Not force anyone.
The only persons who didn't like him or what he was saying....
was those w/ wicked, unreceptive hearts. Also, those whose wickedness was exposed, didn't like him, his teachings & his actions. (not of my own originality)

Well dear, first of all, it's a free country. We have freedom of speech. But if someone doesn't want to believe in God, then that is also their right. No one should be forced to believe in Him. They have to believe of their own free will, or it's pointless.
And when we pray for someone, it's because we are asking for God's blessings on them. Don't you wish good thoughts for people? And I don't think I'm better than anyone else. I am thankful and do believe I am blessed to have Jesus in my life, but that's something you can do also, so I don't understand why you're feeling so inferior to Christians. Anyway, have a nice day.

I was not brainwashed. I believed because I wanted to seek a better way of life with more promises after death. To be a Christian, I have hope. Otherwise, I have no hope but just possibly living through this pain and sorrow again.
My body remains in pain day after day. I do not hope to ever have to go through this again so I pray that I will never be reincarnated into this world.
Within my mind, I see a better place. I see a place where love and joy are eternal. I see a place of beauty beyond comparison on earth. I see hope. This hope alone brings me much happiness, even if it is not true, it makes my life worthwhile while hoping. I see no regrets in my life for believing God is above all and over all while He gives me eternal hope. I choose God, you choose your own way and take your own rewards, good or bad.
As for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah God....... Joshua said (paraphrased)

When you pray for someone it is a personal thing done in private, not on a street corner for everyone to witness
Just because someone says that they will pray for you, does not mean that they are better than you {or that the even think they are better than you} it is just our way of helping. I pray for everyone regardless if I tell them or not, I should not have to tell you or anyone that I'm doing it
I will not preach to anyone who does not want to listen, I am not going to shovel God down someones throat, I just walk away
Edit:
What are you talking about, If you do not know, then what gives, It is a Private thing, not an announcement in a paper

You asked a 2 ?'s here., so I will answer them in the order asked.1-Yes. 2- I Never do, or would. I don't believe that is the right thing to do. Because I would Not want someone praying to their false god concerning ME! I do however pray for Jehovah to give a portion of His Holy spirit to those enduring persecution or hardship for His name's sake. Or like myself, for all who has an unbelieving mate. And more, but I do Not nor will Ever pray for those whom have no respect for the wisdom, love & mercy that God has extended to us--mankind. That is all up to us-mankind-individually to decide if we want that or not. I kind of agree w/ you in what you said in your last 2 sentences. Ppl say that to me, and I am EXtrEmeLY offended. first off; I already said, I don't want anyone to pray to a false god concerning me. And secondly; I do feel it is in essence the person saying, "YOU are Wrong, and I am Right. So, I want you to be Wrong, like I am." Yes, the other person is the one that is wrong. I KNOW the person is Not worshiping the one true God Jehovah; then you are the one that is wrong. But, I don't go around, continually telling ppl this. It is my opinion, & I keep it to myself. (except for right here, right now) When I do speak to a person regarding the God I serve, it is not w/ that kind of attitude. Like I said it is my Opinion, & I keep it to myself. I have and do tell others about the glorious future God has Promised to us all. But I don't do this with a judgemantal kind of attitude. That was Not the way Jesus taught or lived / showed us by example.

Belief in God has nothing to do with being brainwashed. Belief in God is about having faith. And although his faith has been replaced by endless pride and greed, Satan himself believes in God and Satan alone is responsible for brainwashing and turning people away from God.
And people pray for each other out of LOVE, not arrogance. They are simply following Christ's example. Christ loves EVERYONE, including YOU and he wants nothing more than a close, personal, and loving relationship with you.

No...those are the over zealous Bible Thumpers who say everyone is going to burn if they do one thing wrong, which is annoying as hell to everyone. To me if you want my opinion you'll ask for it. But, I don't want your opinion about my faith unless I ask you about it also, because that's pretty annoying too and is just begging for an argument to start. I think many Christians go wrong in their belief that they're better than anyone else. We're all the same and none of us is perfect. We're just trying to make it through this life like everyone else. Believe in what you want to...be it nothing, Buddah, Muhammed, Jesus, etc. I'll still be friends with you, because your religion and your faith doesn't make up everything of who you are. I'm Christian, but I'm not going to pour Holy Water on you and scream at you in Latin if your not...that's just retarded. If you don't want me to pray for you, I won't; but If you tell me you want me to, I will...its simple as that. We're all trying to make it through this life the best way we can, and if people would stop hating and arguing with each other over religion, politics, and all the other stupid crap we argue about, we might actually be able to accomplish something great and meet great people while we're at it, no matter who they are or what they believe in.
Edit: When did hell and crap become cuss words? Its not like I dropped the "f" bomb. Okay, crap is a playoff of one but three year olds say that, and hell is technically believed as a place, and I don't fear it...so I believe its alright to say...Just my reply to Bambi's comment.
