I am sitting here twiddling my thumbs, surfing around the Blog site, and a song just popped into my head. Should I put an advert in the paper?

"I feeling tired of my life
I've been here too long
Like a worn-out recording
Of a favorite song
So while I lie here sleeping
I read the paper in bed
And in the personal columns
There was this letter I read
" "If you like Pina Coladas
And getting caught in the rain
If you're not into yoga
If you have half a brain
If you'd like making love at midnight
In the dunes on the Cape
Then I'm the love that you've looked for
Write to me and escape."
I know I'm a lady
I know that sounds kind of mean
And I should not be doing this
Have fallen into the same old dull routine
So shall I write to the paper?
Take out a personal ad
And though I'm nobody's poet
I thought it wasn't half bad""
"Yes I like Pina Coladas
And getting caught in the rain
I'm not much into health food
I am into champagne
I've got to meet you by tomorrow,

And cut through all this red-tape
At a bar called O'Malley's
Where we'll plan our escape."

So I'll waite with high hopes
Hope you walk into the place
I know you'll smile in an instant
I know the curve of your face
So lets go for Pina Coladas
Getting caught in the rain
And the feel of the ocean
And the taste of champagne
If you'd like making love at midnight
In the dunes of the Cape
You're the person I've looked for
Come with me and escape"

Now don't all get worried about me. Words, changed. I wont' put in it the local paper. from Pina Coladas

Considering you posted this in the senior section and considering you like music, you should go see "Across the Universe" at the movie theater tonight. It's about the end of the hippie era and the beginning of the Vietnam War protests, but it's told by live performances of Beatles songs. I can't decide if Americans would relate more than our U.K. friends. Americans our age will remember the difficult times we had during the early Vietnam era, but everyone will relate to the music and what was happening in the '64-'68 time frame. However, parts of the movie are difficult when it moves into the Vietnam war protests and the war deaths. It's a great movie.

Love the song, & a sense of humor is a wonderful thing. I'm finding out that I like staying home more. I can do what I want, play the music I want.....I have a "significant other (male)", but he's still working & I went out on disability last year, so I spend more time alone now. Answers is a great place. I've connected with people & traded jokes. It's been a great thing for me because I can't do the physical things I used to do.

Go dancing. If you don't know where to go dancing or cannot dance take dance lessons and you will meet others who can ''hook you up'' Join an art class, pottery class or support group of some kind. You can meet people at these places that share your interest. Go to a movie. Even if you are alone. Eat lots of popcorn and chocolate. Join Curves or some other type of exercise group and meet people there. Maybe you can't do these things this weekend but you can work on doing it later.

I love that song and can never decide if they should laugh or be mad that the other was meeting 'someone else'. Come on out to the moors for all the fun, maybe you could sing a few old tunes for us and we'll get to dancing and forget all about the skirmish.

Come on down to the Bar and we'll have a sing along. Perhaps SLK, Teal, Eyes, Barbra, Granny, and all the others will join along. Don't feel slighted if your name does not appear Puhleeze. I slept in and in the midst of caffiene withdrawal and my first day attempting to kick the smoking habit.

The call has gone out & you're invited to something not really hostile or hostel.
To join forces with the dragons upon the Scottish brothel.
So check out the prior posts and get with the swing.
The day is alight with unusual things.

I read your posts all the time and I (just my opinion) think you are depressed big time and need to do something to pull out of your funk. Hold that head up and join in some of the fun on here. ;0)
