In Hinduism/ Sanatan Dharma we have atleast one GOD/GODDESS per person. And the GOD/GODDESSES have their exclusive carriers like BULL, PEACOCK, RAT. Animal like COWs are reverred being a source of wealth for it's milk etc. what about chicken ? it's food of the millions at the most affordable price, eggs are considered the most compact divine food. why this bird could not find a venerable place in Hindu way of like . Any theory?

emus are also a good source of nutrition, and full of protein i hear. also, they taste like chicken apparently; they could be a better god/goddess carrier because they are stronger and don't get hurt so easily. they're suitably majestic for the position, and they're sort of cute too.
if you propose it, i'll second!

In South India, especially in Tamil Nadu, Murugan (the male fowl) is the carrier of Lord Karthikeyan.
In the rest of India, perhaps eggs of chicken were not a food item when the concept of vahanas (carriers) came into being as part of Hindu religion. Perhaps it wasn't even domesticated and remained as jungle fowl only. Some people hunted it for its meat. So it appears that neither chicken nor eggs were popular in ancient Vedic India.
