since you must "believe" it to be given this burden and put yourself into a hell, how can one not believe and then not have to suffer and be burdened with guilt, shame for a crime of another person who is beyond dead?

Please be hypothetical and creative with your answers, I have a sense of humour but appreciate deep thought.

You die and you are confronted by God(However you would define God, please answer even if you don't believe in one or more).

It gives you this message:

You have lived well and for that I will let you choose your fate. You can choose of these options.

Rebirth in a blessed life, you will forget you ever lived before but you will be gifted or blessed in one way, you may specify.

You may return to earth to watch but never participate, no one will know you are there, but you will be able to watch forever.

You can have my wisdom, but it will destroy you, in a moment you will know and understand everything as I do, but it will only be a moment you will cease to be after that. Final death, you will no longer be aware you ever were or could have been.

What would you pick? Please expand on your answers as much as possible.

also, would God excuse your hateful acts towards others, just because you claim that you're born again after "accepting" Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?

don't get me wrong, it's exactly the message I am getting from Bible-fundamentalists.

More and more each day, I realize that many aspects our lives are dictated by nothing other than human instinct and it's will to perserve or perfect the species. Beauty, love, hate, lust, and the concept of "good" and "bad" are just a few of the infinite examples of human instinct. Something considered "good" is almost always something that helps to perserve the species. Giving to the poor and helping people are considered good because they help to improve the health of other humans so they prosper and reproduce. Something considered "bad" is almost always something that helps to blight the speicies. Killing seems bad because it decreases the human population and prevents it from prospering. Emotions, in any shape or form, are mental messages that let us know if something is "bad" or "good" for us and the species. Emotions are nothing but human instinct. If you learn to detach yourself from emotions and human ways of thinking, people brand you as "cold hearted", "sociopathic", "crazy", or even "evil". If people were to take time and look at humanity from a purely animalistic point of view, they could see why they do the things they do and have a greater understanding of their own way of life. Every feeling, thought, and action we do are geared towards preserving the species. When we stray from these instincts, we tend to commit acts that are considered "bad" by other humans because they can't understand the pointlessness of their own humanity. In the end, we're just animals that are really great at being able to preserve ourselves. Too bad for the humans that don't appreciate humanity. They'll just get beleaugered and ostricized until they do what's right; commit suicide.

Aren't we all from Adam's race? We all sin. Babies and children aren't accountable, though, until they are old enough to be held accountable. How old is that?

Well I personally am not baptized in the truth nor am I an unbaptized publisher. My mother is and she has made attend the Kindom Hall since I was 7. I'm 19 now and have an adequate knowlegde of the truth...well I guess I'm flattering myself but it's hard when you don't know much Spanish (attended the Spanish congregatioon). Anyways I've known what goes on behind the scenes and know the people who care about the truth and who don't. I am just basing this on physical contact (talking to them, etc.) One of the main elders, which I highly respect, practically raised his kids in the truth. However, I knew his kids were going to rebel at one point, especially the oldest. This elder really wanted his kids to benifit from the truth, however, I think he might've imposed it too much on them. The oldest refused to attend the Kingdom Hall anymore and has gotten involved with the wrong crowd. The elder had to resign and is now just an unbaptized publisher. It isn't fair why he had to do this.

I have two voices in my head telling me to do things, but I can't tell which is God's and which is Satan's. Does anybody know how I can distinguish between the two? I don't accidentally want to follow Satan's orders and ignore God.

OK, I just want your opinion. If any of you dare to ruin some attempt for peaceful debate, I will dropkick all of you.

Anyway... Christian, Muslim, Jewish... Any religious scholar in the medieval times applied Aristotle's logic to explain their religious beliefs. They used logic to explain the statements in the Bible, Torah, Quran, etc.

And then there are the priests. The priests that used... Well, not exactly blind faith, but just the word of the manuscripts to explain events and word.

Now, which one would you more likely believe? And neither is not a choice.

very good reason why catholics were asked to eat fish on a friday. Food was in very short supply during both WW1 and WW2, so the Pope asked all catholics to eat fish on a friday. Thus leaving more meat for the men at the front, the meat was canned and called bully beef,do you agree it was a great idea.

Are Musslims saying that The Laws of Moses that the God Yahweh wrote in it's much strickter and indepth version found only in The Dead Sea Scrolls, Torah and the Bible but not in the Quran concerning clean and unclean animals to eat as a food product, purification of women after childbirth, regulations about infectious skin diseases, regulations about mildew, discharges causing uncleanness, eating blood forbidden, unlawful sexual relations and the one place of worship laws to name a few that were to be followed without change by God's chosen nation for every generation to come all of a sudden were greatly deluted by the same God when He inspired Mohummad to write new regulation in the Quran concerning these same laws that were never to be changed or altered by His people.

This is just for baptists.
I was raised baptist, but I am not anymore.

I wanted to know...What is the point is baptising a newborn baby?

Being baptised is about showing to everyone your faith and trust in god, or whatever.
A baby has no clue whats going on.

Why do people waste their time with that???

2007-10-01 12:18:28 · 22 answers · asked by Megan 3 in Religion & Spirituality

From a hypothetical point. Didn't the Devil want to be god? And evil wants to be the center of attention? And blows itself up out of proportion? And makes itself seem SO BIG that We can't do anything about it?
Evil is NOT that big.
For example. They say 500 people, (approx), were killed with handguns in New York City last year. And any loss of Life is tragic. But there are 8,000,000 people in New York City.
Why do we focus on the one person that was rude to us for a minute and let it ruin our whole day? Best to come to grips with the reality of evil, negativity, or whatever you want to call it. And put it in it's place!
