There is no salvation to lose, so it doesn't matter what some old book says on the subject.

does the bible really teach - once saved always saved?
Hebrews 10:26-31
For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine; I will repay," says the Lord. And again, "The Lord will judge His people." It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
If you accept the Messiah's sacrifice and continue sinning at will there is nothing left to save you.
Hebrews 6:4-6
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.
Are these verses speaking of people who were truly saved? of course they are!
once enlightened -saw the truth
tasted the heavenly gift -accepted the Messiah's sacrifice and sins were forgiven
become partakers of the Holy Spirit - became children of the Father
tasted the good word of God -received blessings from above
no one can honestly say that these people were "not really saved" -it's speaking of believers who fell away.
Paul believed he could lose his salvation.
1 Corinthiams 9:27
But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

again, cj is so wrong. you can loose your salvation. there are NO scriptures that PROVE you cannot loose your salvation. Absolutely none!!!!
Sin separates us from God. It is true God never leaves us, but the fact is when we sin, we turn from God.It is us who leave the Lord whenever we decide to commit a sin, lust lying, stealing, adultery, murder, pride, unkindness, sins of ommission, like not helping someone you are able to help, or not telling something that is important, like leaving out a certain detail that might incriminate youself etc. We can loose our salvation, and do whenever we commit a sin, a mortal sin, bible calls it sin unto death.

Jesus said in John 10: 28
And I give them ETERNAL life and they shall NEVER lose it or perish throughout the ages. And no one is able to snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father who has given them to Me, is greater and mightier than all else, and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hands. 30 My Father and I are one.
This scripture is saying that there is nothing you can do to lose your salvation. That not even we with the ability to sin and mess things up in our lives can do anything wrong to lose it. We are not able to do any good deeds or works to gain salvation why would our bad deeds take away our salvation?
If our sin or wrongdoings could cause us to lose our salvation then that would mean we are mightier than God the Father and greater than His Son. Which we are not. The only sin that we are convicted of is the sin that we don't know The Father personally and haven't accepted Christ as our Savior and Lord. We can't earn salvation. We just accept it as a free gift. And we neve lose it.

In Hebrews, it says that Jesus will never leave me nor forsake me. In Greek that is five negatives, saying basically that Jesus will never never never never never leave those who are saved.
Nothing can separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus, not even yourself, not sin either, since sins are all paid for on the cross, forever, past, present, and future. It is impossible to lose your salvation.

Romans 8:31-39:
31) "...If God be for us, who can be against us?"
33) "Who shall lay ANY THING to the charge of God's elect?
It is God that justifieth"
34) "Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea
rather, that is risen again, ...who maketh intercession
for us".
Satan is "he that condemneth". But Christ overcame
him. Don't be guilty of helping Satan condemn.
35) "WHO SHALL SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF
CHRIST?"
Read it all to see what can separate us from the love of God.
NOTHING, that's what. Not, tribulation, distress, persecution,
famine, nakedness, peril, or sword. "NAY, IN ALL THESE
THINGS WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS THROUGH
HIM THAT LOVED US".
Does this say we are conquerors thru any act of obedience?
No, we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS THRU HIS LOVE
FOR US.
38) "For I am persuaded, that neither, death, nor life, nor
angels, nor principalities, nor POWERS, NOR THINGS
PRESENT, NOR THINGS TO COME, nor heigth, nor
depth, nor any other creature, SHALL BE ABLE TO
SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD, which
IS in Christ Jesus our Lord".
No "angel's" "power" can separate us, and satan is a
powerful angel, but Jesus said, the gates of hell SHALL NOT
prevail against his church.
Are you aware that Jesus lived a sinless life for us BECAUSE we couldn't live without sin. We die sinners,
but Christ's perfect life and death and resurrection covers
our shortcomings. He is our perfection.
You can limit God's love for you in your own mind, but that
doesn't actually limit His Love. You can join satan in his
condemnation of God's people, but God is the judge.
When our merciful God returns, there is going to be a lot
of shame for limiting God in heart and mind!!!
John 6:37, Jesus says, "All that the Father giveth me SHALL
COME TO ME; and him that cometh to me I WILL IN NO
WISE CAST OUT".
Jesus says that he will not cast out those that come to him
for any reason/no wise.
