also, would God excuse your hateful acts towards others, just because you claim that you're born again after "accepting" Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?

don't get me wrong, it's exactly the message I am getting from Bible-fundamentalists.

That's the message everybody gets from fundamentalists.

It's always interesting to see how they twist scripture around to fit their unloving doctrines and narrow, exclusive tenets. They twist and pervert biblical passages until they convince themselves all they need to do is condemn and they never have to do the hard work of loving people.

We need to remember to pray for them.

I am a Christian and as such forgiven of sin but being human I continue to sin therefore I must pray for forgiveness and mercy daily and seek to be more Christ like and less me like. I don't know if I''m a fundie or not so I will say that God does not excuse my sins he forgives them when I repent of them and sincerely seek to do His will. A true Christian would not be hateful to others it is not Christ like. Only God can look at a heart and determine whether or not they are really His child.

God forgives all, but people who proselytize and try to force others into following their own beliefs, presume to speak for God and are, IMO, total jerks and they also blaspheme since God would never be that way; HE is not hellfire annd brimstone, He is a kind, benevolent Being, not nasty and doom and gloom like some Christians.) I am Christian but I choose to live by example, and by being kind to others not by forcing fear on others in the name of God)
I had no need to be "born again"; why shoiuld I; I'm already here, and as for "accepting" Jesus Christ, I did that when I was old enough to grasp the concept of God.

the Bible says you will know a tree by the fruit it bares

Jesus once turned over tables and rebuked men for turning
the house of God into a din of thieves
would you call this a hateful act or just Jesus telling it like it
should be?

one should never hate people but instead hate the things
that lead them astray
God is not willing that any should perish but many will because of their disobedience

Change that to "it's exactly the message I am getting from SOME Bible-fundamentalists"

No sin is excused unless its repented of.

You are asking a good question and I would add that because of the judgemental direction they take they actually push people into thinking 'if that's what happens when you get into the bible then I pass.......'

Maybe you are taking our straight forward, complete acceptance and truth of God as judgmental? As for hateful acts, there is no excuse for that from anyone. God is the only judge. We are not to judge, lest we be judged.

They don't think they are being judgemental and hateful. I have to say, its rather scarey.

It sure looks to me like you are being rather judgmental yourself.

And you might, just maybe, be misrepresenting the people you are taking to.

Do they refer to themselves as Bible-fundies"?

the REAL question is whether God would excuse you generalizing all of his followers under your false pretense of everyone being a "bible fundie"
