This is just for baptists.
I was raised baptist, but I am not anymore.

I wanted to know...What is the point is baptising a newborn baby?

Being baptised is about showing to everyone your faith and trust in god, or whatever.
A baby has no clue whats going on.

Why do people waste their time with that???

I am a baptist. We do not baptize babies. There is no point until they make the decision for themselves when they reach an age where they know the difference between right and wrong.

I do not know of any baptist churches that baptize babies. Once in a while someone will have a ceremony dedicating their child to the Lord, but it does not include baptism.

I'm baptist and have never seen a baby baptized. We have a dedication service, which means parents promise to raise their child by the Bible.
Babies don't need baptized. Baptism is the first thing you should do after your saved to be a public acknowledgment (by those present) and a public confession (by the convert) that one has been Spirit-baptized

Baptism is for those who have become disciples ans have learned to obey the comandments made by Jesus Christ. To be qualified for baptism you must understand The word of God and have faith in him.
Can a baby understand and have faith in God as a newborn?...I don't think so.
Jesus himself was baptised when he was thirty.
Meaning that babies do not have the capacity of understanding the holy scriptures as newborns.

you're impressive. All realities with Booker accepting the baptism are erased, on an identical time as the single with the rejection exists. What nevertheless bothers me is the way forward for the Luteces. i'm guessing as a results of fact that they're displaced for the period of area and time, the two are nevertheless alive in a distinctive certainty. exciting fact: Lutece is yet another call for Paris

I think it's the Presbyterians who baptize babies, not the Baptists. I go to a Southern Baptist church and we don't do that. The Presbyterians, to my understanding, think that it's okay to baptize a baby because of the places in the New Testament where such-and-such and their whole household were saved and were baptized. That's a real stretch in my opinion, and I agree that babies getting baptized is just getting them wet.

Biblically, there is no reason. Baptists are not the only ones who do this, however. Catholics baptize babies as well. It is a dedication of the baby to God, and making a covenant to Him to raise the child in Christian beliefs.

the bible says that thru one man (adam) sin came unto ALL.
Where in this ALL does it exclude babies? original sin is the sin of adam and eve. where in the entire bible, does it state NOT to baptise a baby? In the bible it says, they baptised "whole households" did it say the babies were excluded or left out from being baptised? the answer is no no no and no again.

People who believe in infant baptism, also believe in the doctrine of original sin, we are born sinful. Augustine came up with the idea of baptizing infants so that if they died they would go to heaven, since by his thinking, the sacrament of baptism is what purifies us from sin and makes us right with God.

You are Baptized when you can make a decision to live for Christ. All baptzing a baby does is get them wet. What does it mean to the baby? Absolutely nothing.
