I have two voices in my head telling me to do things, but I can't tell which is God's and which is Satan's. Does anybody know how I can distinguish between the two? I don't accidentally want to follow Satan's orders and ignore God.

I want to start out by saying that hearing voices is no light matter. You should see someone about what's going on inside of you. Secondly I want to tell you that both of the voices are probably satan. Sometimes God speaks to someone through the Holy Spirit. It isn't something you can hear in your head. You feel it in your spirit. If God does speak to you there should be no confusion. Because these voices are causing you confusion; I would say that they have nothing to do with God. If the almighty were talking to you,Believe Me, you would know it. You are being tricked. Satan wants you to think that one of the voices is God because that's what he always does. He's an expert at imitating God. I don't know what the voices are telling you to do but you should talk to a professional. Don't take the orders of the voices. Especially if they are telling you to do bad things. No matter what reasoning the voices give you, no matter how much sense it seems to make don't listen. Your question was worrying. Don't just ask people online. Talk to someone else. If there's no one in your life that you can go to, open up the phone book and find a doctor or someone to see. Find a church to go to. Don't let these voices rest inside of you. Don't get comfortable with them. They don't belong there. Neither of them is God. They aren't out for the good of you or anyone. Do Not listen to them. Do Not let them stay.

Well Satan is the voice telling you to do something out of the will of God if your not sure God would like you doing something ask your pastor or someone strong in Christ. Does your church have any types of groups that do bible studies and that sort of thing so you can ask these questions?? Good Luck EDIT: and the girl above me is right if you are confused don't do anything until you are sure b/c satan is the author of fear and confusion

God's is the voice telling you to live a dull life, do as you're told, give him lots of money and generally think you're superior to everybody else because you've chosen to follow an ancient book with many flaws. Satan, on the other hand, tells you to have fun, enjoy yourself, don't give all you money to a fantastically wealthy institution (the church) and generally enjoy life.
Go to your doctor, tell him/her this story, he'll sure have some tablets for you.

Groan. First of all, if you're hearing voices in your head, that's the first sign of madness. Anyway, Satan's voice would be the most tempting, while God's would seem to be the right thing to do, but seriously, I think religion is getting to you.

I would have to say the same thing to you that I do when I am talking to the grandkids. There are good touches and there are bad touches. Bad touches make you feel weird inside and they make you feel bad. Good touches, like a hug or a kiss good night, those make you feel loved and special. Same goes for Voice of God and Voice of Satan. I would say that if, upon thinking things through you get a 'bad touch' feeling, it doesn't come from God.

Yeah; the low confident seductive one is Satan's; the high pitched screaming-like-an-insane-banshee one is god.
Seriously though - if you really hear voices in your head go see a doctor/psychiatrist.
Hearing voices in your head is NOT normal and you should have it seen to - there is good treatment and medication available these days.

God will never contradict His Word- sometimes however, Satan knows the word so well himself that He can trick you, so trust the Holy Spirit to reveal that to you. Satan will always leave confusion in your mind- when it is God you will definitely know, because it brings peace. I always wondered how to tell too, and I cannot tell you I get it right all the time, but I can tell you, God will continue to draw you with Love, and point you to Jesus , while Satan always seems to point to self.

People do not usually hear voices so I think you should seek medical help immediately.
God would be telling you to do good things and satan would tell you to do bad things ; so if you must, do the good things and don't hurt anybody.
