I mean the idea of punshiment from God is crazy, I was tought God was ever-loving. Why fear hell and make your life a misery?

A question was asked just moments ago by a concerned mother with an ill child. She requested that you pray for his health, that he not need to have a biopsy.

Some people retorted that she was seeking only pity, and that this is not a forum for prayers.

I understand that this is a place for questions and answers, but prayer requests for children are much more important than the assinine questions that usually flood this forum.

You are certainly welcome to tell me off. But keep in mind that, after more than 30 years of atheism, I am still able to see clearly both sides of the fence. That doesn't make me better than you, and I am thankful I at least possess some compassion.

So I ask you, did your harsh words to this worried woman make you feel good in any way, shape, or form?

Jesus said, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's." But it seems that "Caesar" now controls just about everything outside the confines of a person's home or church. And the Chrristian ideal, "turn the other cheek," for instance, is simply not practical in today's world. Can you imagine Bush telling Bin Ladin, "Go ahead and attack. We'll turn the other cheek."

FYI, we have been in and out of this type of relationship for quite a while now and it has really allowed the two of us to be so much closer, open & honest with each other. Many people (not knowing our personal life) ask all the time how we keep it so good for so many years. (Married for 19yrs now) It's not for all people but if you can allow yourself to be honest with yourself....the rest comes naturally. Not to metion the bex intimate life you could imagine!

When I was a kid, I watched so many movies and only got them on a concrete level. Now I watch so-called kids movies and I am blown away by the spiritual and philosphical messages they hold.
In Monsters Inc., Sully and Ed accidently discover that laughter is far more powerful than fear. What is your take on this?

Its a sin that some people decide to do. Thats why they need Jesus for they are lost. Also you can not be gay and a christian. Can't have it both ways. For no sin will enter heaven only hell. Gay is wrong and not natural. God created man and woman to be together not the same sex. People are not born gay and God don't make you gay. Its a sin and a sin some decide to do. satan has them fooled makeing them thinking gay is right. when it is so wrong! Sorry but it's not natural and its nasty. Its wrong to teach kids in school that its ok to be gay. When its not ok. They need to take gay out of movies and shows. It makes me sick. Praying for you all. Sorry to say this but it is true and it is a sin. It is really nasty and sick for anyone wanting to be with the same sex. A man and woman is to be together. Not the same sex. I get sick of people trying to push it on the world.

I'm putting this out there:

I'm so confused about God lately. Stuff isn't making sense. A lot of things seem to prove he's not out there, but thinking about the world coming to it's own with help is a crazier thought.

So here I go: Please all Atheists and Christians:

If a woman has the right to have an abortion because it's her body, and she has the right to do with it what she wants, and this is legal... Then why doesn't this philosophy apply towards prostitution? I mean if one is legal, then why can't the other be legal too? The two acts may be different, but I feel that they share a common logic. What do you think?
BTW: I am trying to gather different opinions, because this is for an assigment I'm doing. Therefore, I would respectfully ask to please keep comments a little bit civilized... Thanks.
