Are you talking about money to start a project, or is this an annual budget? You've got your work cut out for you with benchmarking what other organizations are doing bumped up against what you have available now in logistics and resources. Lots of things to spend money on -- the kickoff, the environment you're going to create -- do you have adequate building space? Will you be sponsoring a number of trips? Games? Sound system? Couch//floor pillows, lamps, etc. for a "chat" area? Books, magazines, other resources? Guest speakers? Bus/transportation? Ping-pong/pool tables (they will have to withstand LOTS of abuse)? Counselor training?

Obviously you'll have to tailor your money to fit your program, and you can spend a little or you can spend the whole thing very quickly.

I would start a program for children who have been victims or witnesses to domestic violence. It is something close to my heart and it can cause so much damage both physical and emotional for any human being to be hurt by someone you love and trust but especially children. I don't think the USA focuses enough on the issue and it is more hushed then other crimes.

Definitley invest it in some kind of after school program for kids in the bad parts of LA. I often have to go through there and it is sad to see this kids sucked into gang life. If they had a place to go after school they wouldnt have the dangers of being on the streets and being exposed to violence, drugs, and hatred.

I'd give the money to Communities in Schools, rather than start a new program.
