I'm personally very much offended by that. Likewise, I was born, raised and still live in America but whenever I hear my fellow Americans say, "God Bless America" isn't that like inadvertently saying, "Damn EVERYONE ELSE to Bloody Hell!"?

Im doing my clinical rounds @ a hospital in a town populated w/a fair amount of Jewish people . So when we get there Sat morning about 730a all of the buttons are pushed on the elevators and we stop at each floor on the way up. We didnt know why each afternoon it was "fixed". So then today someone said it has to do with the Jewish religion and them not doing any work? To push the button I guess? Does anyone know or can explain this to me, Im very curious about it and miraculously many people @ the actual hospital dont even know!

i work in a department store. in our area there are only 4 of us. anyway i asked my boss for time off because i am a college student and i have a week break before i start a new semester. he gave me the time off but on Monday i have to work 6pm to
close, so about 3 1/2 hours. i really don't want to go in on Monday. i don't have any family where i work/go to school, so basically all monday i would sit around in my apartment alone waiting to work. i have to drive home about 4 hours. if i go into work for those 3 hours i wouldn't get to leave until the next day. it seems really dumb to go into work for just 3 hours. it is really important for me to go home because i haven't been in 3 months, and i probably wont get to again for another 2 months. i know it wont be busy, and its only three hours to cover. I've never called in to work before. should i call in? and if so what should i say?
i know other people have called in but i always feel so guilty.

It seems logical since religious people are bound to ignorant religious beliefs, like "everyone who is not part of my religion is hoing to Hell." Whereas non-religious people realize that it's all BS anyway.

you want world peace?
you want people to understand your point of view better?
all you want is WANT!
if you all would just take a chill pill here, things in this crooked world just might run a bit smoother.
so take a breather, relax from telling everyone else how they are wrong & how there may or may not be a god, & answer more of my silly questions (it's a start at least!)....

There is all kind of stuff in there, and yes I am talking old testement. That is part of the bible so must be tjhe word of god, right? There is murder, rape, incest and genocide all over the place. And this is the book we look to to understand the world?

Why do we believe that? Isn't that a little arrogant given the fact that we have zero proof of god's existance (that is why it's called faith) but what if we made first contact with someone else in the universe. And when it came time to talk about religion we would say, the creator of you and your planet looks like we do! They would probably laugh!

I am a strong christian. I have a solid relationship with God and I repent my mistakes and ask for forgiveness for my sins daily. I do bad things and I wish I didn't do them.

But... what do you all think of someone who calls you insane and a bad christian for no reason other than his or her opinion. In my case... it's a guy who just wants lots of attention n always thinks he is right.... but he doesn't and never did care to stop and think of my perspective and never will because he refuses willingly. These words straight from his mouth, not quoted of course.

So I know he will read this question... because he is probably dying to crucify me in any way he can.... just for the fun of it.

What do you all think of someone who says another person's faith is not strong.... to say someone else's faith is corrupt.

I asked a question about "Catholics" today, and someone corrected me by asking if I meant "Roman Catholics" instead.
Is there a type of Catholic that does not come from Romania?

My personal feeling is that having a sexual relationship between the same sex is against God's plan of salvation. (LDS)

However, I think I am at least tolerant of it. In the past I have had many wonderful friends who have choosen to live differently then how I believe we should.

I am a little nervous though because my teenager step daughter is dating a girl and I have mixed feelings on what I should be teaching my daughter.

I don't want to hurt my step daughters feelings (i don't want her to feel not welcome in our home or accpected) but I feel that it is my duty to teach my daughter God's teaching (including loving one another).

As of right now, I have asked my hubby to not allow his daughter to bring her girlfriend to our house until I figure out how I should handle this.

What do you think? How would you handle this...

Thanks.

Not to boast or anything, but I am pretty slim. And people tend to point it out a lot. They will always say things like, "Wow you are so lucky! You're so skinny!"
I have no idea what to say in return.
If I say..
"Thank you" then people think I'm vain or have an ego, etc.
If I don't say anything and just smile, people think I'm rude.
And of course I can't say anything like "No I'm not" because then they just think I'm a jerk.
Usually I will say, "So are you!" but then they always get mad for some reason too.
Help? Thank you. ♥
