Why do we believe that? Isn't that a little arrogant given the fact that we have zero proof of god's existance (that is why it's called faith) but what if we made first contact with someone else in the universe. And when it came time to talk about religion we would say, the creator of you and your planet looks like we do! They would probably laugh!

This silly primitive idea trivializes the concept of creator and builds a barrier higher than the stratosphere blocking serious investigation into what "creator," "the uncaused, "the unknowable essence" and such terms really mean and imply about existence that transcends the physical. Sensitive, intelligent people laugh so at such an idea their minds refuse to look under such surface trivializations and shut off from serious investigation.

The Creator is Life,Love, Light, A Flaming Fire---Energy Beyond Belief.
Intelligence Beyond Belief.

The Creator became a Man.
The Creator Looks like US.
We were Created in That Image and Likeness.
(The Father Created HIMSELF a Human Body First) HE Showed HIMSELF to Moses!

Jesus took on a Human Body
(and Left HIS Glory---the Power that makes HIM the Creator---in Heaven)
so HE could come down here and Redeem US.

personification of deity is a natural thing to do. Those aliens' "god" will look like them. I say "god" or the Creator is a source of energy that we cannot fathom and that's why we put a face on it, so to speak. Some of us put more than one face on that energy--as a pagan i believe one Creator is also manifested as the goddess and the god, and you can give that goddess and that god whichever face it's easier for you to identify with--I identify with Hathor because I love cows, for example. If I wanted to, i could also identify with the Christian "God" and visualize an old man who reminds me a lot of the personification known as Zeus/Jupiter or father time. Seems to me that since we personify "God" and they will as well, we would have to end up agreeing that "god" was some form other than either party believed or we'd probably end up having another religious war.

god is a spirit creature and as such neither eats or sleeps or they don't have sex they are created. They do not have flesh and blood bodies. The way they are like humans is we are the ones with the brains. We have the power to make decisions and learn things. Conplex ideas and wonder about eternity.

The creator of the universe doesn't even have a body!

The creator of the universe is a SPIRIT, and doesn't LOOK like ANYTHING.

Man is made in His Image. We have Intelligence and Emotion. But I suppose that's too esoteric for you to understand.

No, he looks more like spaghetti. Flying spaghetti, in fact.

Hey, the view has no less credibility than the anthropomorphic views.
