Most people who say they believe in god, don't actually believe IN god, they believe in the BELIEF in god. All religious beliefs are very old. Those who believe in god and have religion as the guide, are believing the same things, (and viewing the world the same way) as those who lived long ago.

Christians say that the world has changed and the bible has stayed the same? That is my point, how can a book written by humans who lived long ago, when knowledge of the world was limited, offer any insights into the world. The world has indeed changed but religion keeps the world in the dark.

He said, he won't married a woman who doesn't have a religion.

My parent are muslims. He is a muslim too, they think that I should Muslim too.
I personally don't believe in religion because I feel that it a way to control people.
I respect him and his belief, but he has problem accepting what I believe.
It's just hard because I accept him for who he is, do and believe but he has problem with mine.

He said we can be boyfriend and girlfriend but nothing more unless I practice Islam because my parent are Muslim.

What do you think?
Should I be in the relationship anyways?
I am just confuse now, he is good, kind and everything I am looking for. It's just that it's my life too and I want to be happy too and don't want to force myself into anything.

I don't mind praticing it. It's just that I feel that God will love me and hear me no matter what I believe.

Are 'soup-kitchens', or feeding people from the public for free, a valid method of charitable donation? Do they do any good at all, or are they just what amounts to 'feeding the birds'? I don't really mean to be cold here, but Jesus did have something to say about 'birds' (being satan, gobbling up the misplaced seed) and 'dogs' (begging under the tables, feeding off the crumbs and leftovers). I recently found a soup-kitchen ministry near my residence...some of them don't look so good...and seem to need something healthy to eat. Opinions?

Would it be possible to bring together that many white men and women to help bring up our race...ie help out a brother or sister in need. There are so many ways that we could help eachother. We have so many white men and women out there living on the streets, or hooked on drugs because they cant get gov. assistance to get the help/treatment they need because we are not a minority. So what, we either let them keep diluting us or killing us off until we are? We need to be supportive of our brothers and sisters. How can we do that if we are all seperated by economical backgrounds? In key, we need to keep in mind who we are and where we come from. what I really want to know is how can we bring as many as we possibly can together to start helping eachother...and to actually see how our other brothers/sisters are living and see how we can help them...if we cant see what they're going through, then how can we help them? So in turn that is why I want to know would you come?

I was just transferred to a new dept, but I still have to work with my old supervisor, who I don't get a long with. Long story short, I have no respect for her, and we both know it. She is insecure, self-centered, and incompetent. Last week we had a stressful situation come up, and my old supervisor said "I need this to be fixed!" to which I replied "then fix it!" (it's easy to assign the impossible to others, isn't it?"). Well, I heard she was really upset about this, so what do I do if she talks to my new supervisor about it? Do I take the high road and remain silent about how much pressure she puts on me? Or do I lay all the cards on the table? BTW..my new supervisor really likes me and the head of my department likes me, so i'd almost rather remain silent, and let time show him the truth. On the other hand, I feel he will need to side with a fellow supervisor and he may also worry he has a "problem" employee on his hands, which will tarnish my reputation. What do I do?

in our culture (American) we are referred to as girls and not women while men still get to be called men? You dont see too many men referenced as "boys" I have seen women on reality shows be referenced as "girls" up until the age of 35. This doesnt seem to be only on reality shows but on alot of our media. What are your thoughts?

i believe in god because i needed someone to forgive my sins because i felt guilty of them. while some people believe in god just to escape hell. is there a difference between this? can people who believe in god just to escape hell really go to heaven? so confused here. pls help !

...totally emotionally numb? No emotion toward anyone or anything or any motivation?
My fiance and I had a few days away this week and it was awesome. We came home and I felt great because we'd had such great time, then all of a sudden this sense of absolute numbness came over me.
I couldn't feel anything, no love, no hate, no happiness, no sadness, as if someone had ripped it all right out of me. It only lasted about an hour and then it vanished & I was fine. Now its back. I can't feel the usual emotions I feel toward my fiance. The only way I can express is 'numbness'.
My friend said a lot of negative things the other day and it depressed me and I can't shake it off. I'm not normally like this and I don't know what's going on with me.
Have you ever felt like this and how did you shake it off?
