You are all proving my point by asking me the same thing--BOTH are based on faith.BOTH are religious.

no, but I do have Tivo!
I don't have to worry about whether or not a saw it personally, scientists say that it happened, and that I should trust in their conclusions.
I mean come on, who am I to doubt modern science? I only have a high school education, and a s such, should just revert to the natural state of the uneducated-becoming a highly religious person.

WE have a little thing called EVIDENCE. And LOTS OF IT. What do you have? What was that? Nothing? That's what I thought.
"The dating methods are very inaccurate" is another lie that's perpetuated by creationists. The dating methods are not "very inaccurate." There is the OCCASIONAL inaccuracy, but that will happen with anything you do using any machine or scientific test at all. If the methods are so wrong, then how do you explain all the CORRECT results, which outnumber the incorrect results HUNDREDS of times over?

Were YOU there when the magic man in the sky poofed you into existence?
Actually, yes. I can see what happened using methods like Carbon dating, fossilized evidence, rock strata, DNA analysis, etc. You can't say that.
Bollocks about Carbon dating always being inaccurate. If the timespan being talked about is over 100 million years, than a few hundred thousand years (the margin of error for C-14 dating) is considered normal.

How do you know your father married your mother?
Where you there?
How do you know that electricity powers your computer's processor?
Have you seen it?
How do you know that the speed of light is 299,792,458 metres per second?
Have you timed it?
How do you know that the surface of the sun is hot?
Have you been there?
How do you know that drinking sulphuric acid will kill you? Have you tried it?
The above statements are not believed by direct experience. We believe a lot that is not down to anybody's DIRECT experience. This does not make it "faith".
The link below is to a great little book by Carl Hempel("Philosophy of Natural Science"). Only 116 pages long but explains the philosophy of science very well and is fantastically well written. (Carl Hempel shared that annoying habit of Karl Popper - being German speaking and able to write better English than me!). In particular Hempel looked at the way experience can relate to theories that appear to be very far removed from direct experience - just what you're looking for.

Nope.
Good try. But evolution's a scientific theory, not a faith. We know dinosaurs lived millions of years ago, because we find their bones. We tell their age by a technique called carbon dating. Google that :)
Edit:
Carbon dating is accurate up to 50 years. That might be a lot in a lifetime, but 50 years makes no difference on a few millions. Dinosaurs existed, my friend. Millions of years ago. Sorry to burst your religious bubble. But I have no illusions. I'm sure you're quite happy in your state of denial :)

"Geology shows that fossils are of different ages. Paleontology shows a fossil sequence, the list of species represented changes through time. Taxonomy shows biological relationships among species. Evolution is the explanation that threads it all together. Creationism is the practice of squeezing one's eyes shut and wailing: 'does not!'" — Dr. Pepper.
"Ocean: A body of water occupying 2/3 of a world made for man — who has no gills." — Ambrose Bierce, The Devil's Dictionary, 1911.
"Mr. Candidate, sir, given the overwhelming body of evidence from hundreds of different scientific fields ranging from archeology to physics to zoology, can you explain to us how you can seriously believe that the world was created 2000 years after the Babylonians invented beer ?" — Question suggested by Bombula for creationist candidates.
"If the guy's religion is dependent on evolution being false, then it is a stupid religion and should be made fun of until he shuts up in public about his delusions or gets a religion that isn't so easily proven false." — Darby.

Evolution ï¼ãstill ocurring
Dinosaurs ï¼ãfossil evidence
Big Bangãï¼ãbackground radiation, though big bang is still a theory in the works
God creating the earthãï¼ãNO PROOF.
edit: wait a second. You're saying science is religious??? bhahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! That has got to be the most hilarious thing i've ever heard. Did you happen to know that science is based on EVIDENCE and PROOF, and theories that are constantly being proven, disproven and updated?

We don't meet once a week to discuss the theory of evolution, therefor, it's not a religion. Believing evolution is true is not based on faith, because we have evidence to support our theory, and all a creationist has is a book that says everything was created in 6 days.

Leviathan is said to have fire coming out of his mouth. Sorry, no dinosaur or any other creature are fire-breathing. Behemoth is said to have a navel. Sorry, no dinosaur had a navel. They were not mammals, they hatched from eggs.
And yes, radiometric dating is pretty accurate. Here is a creationist site that explains it, actually:

I really don't know why people who claim to be Christians ask these kinds of self-righteous, ridiculous questions. No wonder people who are non-religious are so suspicious of those who are. Do you really suppose Christ would approve of your ridiculous hatemongering? What's the point? Are your Christian beliefs so fundamentally weak that understanding evolution would dissolve them? It's rather sad, actually. I have never understood why a belief in God and a belief in science couldn't co-exist. In the meantime, why don't you stay off these boards if all you seek to do is inflame people? After all, if you really believe, God IS watching you.
