I have been a Jehovah's Witness since Aug. 1996. But before I studied with them I used to believe alot of the lies you are hearing by some who have posted their thoughts already. At one time I also thought they were a cult. I was weak for listening to others without checking into their beliefs myself. Once I started studying with them I knew that the things people say about them are wrong. I knew they had the truth and Jehovah sent them to my door to teach me the truth. My Wife and I studied and we got married and we are truly happy now.
Please ask for a free home Bible study with Jehovah's Witnesses and I know your eyes will be opened to the truth.
Have a nice day.

HAHAHA! Ok, i saw this question and put it on my private watch list to see what others would say first. Its hilarious how classic the forum is answered. You get the people who think their cults, apostates, or others who stand up for one another (this isnt a bad thing its just so funny). Ok well here's my opinion, I dont believe in anything concerning God at the time being but if there is a RELIGION out there for it it would be them. Because they back up everything they say with the Bible, They go into history and science to prove points, they dont get involved with politics and are neutral, and you just gotta love people who are unselfish enough to devote going door to door no matter how over zealous they may be at times. And heres how i know this, i have relatives who are Witnesses, so i understand how it is talking about witnesses and respecting them when i am not one. But wait i must be a witness then right? HAHAHAHA....my point is as follows

In response to Unsilenced Lamb and Bill: Bill, don't worry man, i understood where you were coming from. UL: He never said he was a witness in his answer to that link you provided, which is hilarious, he could have just been updated on what they have been up to throughout the years JESUS CHRIST LADY! But hey i don't blame you for jumping on the wagon about things, your a classic apostate driven by revenge and madness of some sort. Ah, women...

Which ones? The Witnesses of Jehovah from the ancient nation of Israel? The Witnesses of Jehovah from the first century of our common era? Or the Witnesses of Jehovah of modern day?

Jehovah's Witnesses are unique for their rejection of paganisms, use of God's personal name, and global preaching by every active adherent. No other religious organization can claim such purity of worship.

These facts about Jehovah's Witnesses are perhaps relevant to this question. The more one compares this Christian religion with others, the more remarkable it is shown to be.

1. Jehovah's Witnesses have no paid clergy. Yet they remain tightly organized with more than 6.5 million active Jehovah's Witness preachers (about 16 million associate themselves with the religion). Even fulltime preachers and workers at their branch offices are unpaid volunteers.

2. There is no elite class among Jehovah's Witnesses. Even the few 'anointed' among them enjoy no special privileges in their congregations on earth. An anointed person (one of those relative few with a heavenly hope) is not elevated above his fellow congregants in any way, and he may not even qualify for appointment as a simple 'deacon' or elder. There are no titles; EVERYONE is addressed as 'brother' or 'sister'.

3. No person benefits economically from the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Even the 8 to 20 men who serve on their Governing Body receive simply room, board, medical care, and reimbursement for certain personal expenses according to the exact same provision as every other branch volunteer.

4. About a hundred men have served on Jehovah's Witnesses' Governing Body committee during the past 125 years or so. The vast majority of them have spent the vast majority of their adult lives volunteering for their organization's purposes, and the vast majority have died faithfully and near-pennilessly while still under their legal 'vow of poverty'.

5. Amazingly, Jehovah's Witnesses did not splinter as a sect from some other religion. Instead, a truly tiny but sincere group of bible students studied only the Scriptures to determine the will of God. Thus their religion remains absolutely independent of and not carrying the sins of Christendom's history, yet carries the authority of Christ's teachings.

6. Despite the distortions of anti-Witnesses, throughout their modern history Jehovah's Witnesses have refused to claim divine inspiration or infallibility for their teachings. They have pointed to the bible (and not any particular translation) as the only inspired infallible means of knowing God's thoughts. For over 125 years, their teachings have been presented as merely the results of sincere bible research by imperfect but godly humans.

I use to think that they crazy and misguided. That was before I found out for myself what these people were about and if in fact, what they were teaching were lies like a lot of people claimed. Turns out that they were telling the truth and I admired their respect for the bible and sticking to it even though it may be unpopular by the world. I've been apart of that brotherhood now for 11 years now.

They do good things and I commend them for sticking to there beliefs. They spread the word of god without a holier than thou attitude. I always try to give them a little of my time when they come to the door. After all they are just trying to help me in there own way. While I never plan on joining them they are good people.

Great, invite them in, everytime they come by. "Bill"

I am not one of Jehovah's Witnesses, but that does not prevent me from having the greatest respect for the members of their faith. I met several Witnesses during my incarceration in Gross Rosen and Buchenwald concentration camps. Their behavior was so exemplary and their religious convictions so outstanding that they gained the respect and the admiration of all the other inmates. Even the SS were impressed by them. Jehovah's Witnesses will always be welcome at my house. Said P. V., United States
