I'm so sorry you are having a hard time with this teacher. You are right, that IS stressful, no matter what age you are. Please don't let one teacher ruin your dreams, though. If this is your life, which it sounds like it is, you need to either put blinders on and focus only on what your goal is -- to be the best dancer you can be. Don't compare how she treats other girls to how she treats you. Just go into class with the attitude of "I am here to become great." and then, work like you mean it. If you have other options of going to a different studio and the level of instruction is as good or better, go. Positive mentors can definitely help. But, if not, just stay focused on your personal goal and try to understand that in the professional dance world, there are all sorts of people you will dance for. Some will be supportive and others will be nasty. By learning to go deep into your own mind and keep your eye on the prize, you can overcome even the worst of the worst. I wish you all the best.

Ok defineitly go and just have fun with your friends don't waste your time waiting for someone to ask you to dance and people will be more likely to notice you. And they can be fun but depending on the music/ the quality.

Yes! In my high school, they play exactly the same songs every dance. Everyone assumes everyone else likes rap music.

i dont mind them... its usually girls on one side, boys on the other... then when a slow song comes on... they all start staring at each other... you see a pair start dancing, then all of a sudden everybody is.. its creepy!
