Yahweh was changed into Jehovah by Christians -- Mark 12:29

Harpers Bible Dictionary says that the name JEHOVAH was "the result of the translators' ignorance of the Hebrew language and customs" (1985 edition , p. 1036)

The Book "World Religions From Ancient History to the Present" says :
"The name Jehovah is a medieval misreading and does not occur in the Hebrew Bible" (edited by Geoffrey Parrinder, p. 386)

The Interpreters Dictionary of the Bible says the name Jehovah is "an artificial name" (vol. 2, p.817)

Asimovs Guide to the Bible says that the name Jehovah "arose by mistake" (vol 1, p. 135). The author further says : "This mistake has persisted and will probably continue to persist" (p.135)

The MOST famous name for God in the OT is called the Sacred Tetragrammaton –It is YHWH.

Jehovah is a mistaken name of YHWH. In fact nobody on the EARTH knows how to pronounce IT !

"When it came to God's name instead of putting the proper vowel signs around it, in most cases they put other vowel signs to remind the reader that he should say "Adonai". From this came the spelling Lehouah, and eventually Jehovah ...(pg. 8 ,Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, 1984)

"The truth is , nobody knows for sure how the name of God was originally pronounced". -(page 7- Watchtower Bible and Tract Soceity, 1984.)

What do you think of the views of the Pope? Do you think he is trying to push things back to the way things were before Vatican II, especially with the Tridentine Mass?

Me, my sister, and our friend are all going Trick or Treating together. What would be a good costume for all three of us? We could all be something similar, but kind of different, or we can all be the same thing. It doesn't matter, I just need ideas, please! Thanks!

by one of JW's for research..I found that the name of Jehovah was taken out of the Bible from the old testatments..but, the name Jehovah was not mentioned for the new testatments...So why was the name Jehovah added so many times where it wasn't suppose to be in your NWT Bible? I am curious as to why you think that his name was in the New Testament when that is not what research shows to be.

I'm a Christian, and while I respect people of all faiths. I can see online, on television, in the media, and in real life that so many people hate Christians. Yes, most of the Christians we see on TV are the hypocritical stereotype that we all know so well, but does that give people the right to hate ALL CHRISTIANS? Biblically, I know that because Satan hates us, that all people will hate us. But on a worldly level, can someone please tell me why the majority has SO MUCH HATE towards Christians? I love my Muslim, Buddhist, Homosexual, Pagan, etc. brothers and sisters..but they have so much hate for me. I believe that the time is soon approaching that all Chrisitans in America will be persecuted for their beliefs, just like they are killed and tortured in other countries. Now and then, I only have God on my side.

Koran[2.91] And when it is said to them, Believe in what Allah has revealed, they say: We believe in that which was revealed to us; and they deny what is besides that, while it is the truth verifying that which they have. Say: Why then did you kill Allah's Prophets before if you were indeed believers?

I was in my front yard with some of my friends who just walked over to visit and we were all chatting. My neighbor, who is black, came outside and we all greeted him in a very friendly fashion.

The people next door to me are REALLY good neighbors and I like them A LOT! I met them before anyone else.

Well, my friends started talking politics and saying that Obama was an N-word and weird things like "whites would become slaves" And they were talking very loudly.

I was shocked!

I couldn't figure out what made Obama a Ni**er??

I don't know much about him, but I have a feeling that he's not a trashy person.

The subject changed quickly and I was never able to think of anything proper to say.

I look over at my neighbor's yard and he's outside. There's no way he couldn't have heard them. I was really embarrassed!!

ESPECIALLY since everyone was so friendly to him right before!

I don't want him to have the impression that I'm a racist because of the things they said...

What do you believe happens to your "soul" when you die, is there a heaven or what? I'm in a world religions class right now and I'm having a hard time understanding what happens when a person dies.
Thank you for your help.

that Jesus 'broke the Mosaic covenant' and created a new religion? This is simply not true.

Jesus practised Judaism for his entire life. He did not reject the Old Testament, and he did not reject the Jewish faith. Yes, he may have criticised some aspects, but he did NOT start Christianity; this came after his death.

Why do some people seem so reluctant to acknowledge these basic facts?

What do you think happens to us after we die? Do we just blink out and become nothing? If so, is that scary to you? I sometimes question my faith and wonder about this. Is it possible to believe in life after death without believing in a God? I understand your problems with organized religions...do any of you believe in God in your own way, apart from what religion is trying to say?

I was in British Home Stores about 3 years ago around Christmas (I know, it’s only September, but I want to find it for Christmas), and there was a Christmas tree decoration that I was hoping someone could help me with.
It was an electric, made up of lots of tin men, the odd Santa and possibly a reindeer, and they all had cymbals that they were clashing together. But all the characters (all over the tree) made notes at different times, so all the characters collectively played a selection of Christmas songs on your tree!
This is really the sort of thing that I should have bought when I first had the chance, but I thought that I would have time, but then they were all gone. And I went back the next year and they were not there, and I have googled and ebayed myself silly.
So, my question is that if anyone has any idea what they are called, who makes them or where you can get them. Or if they have at least seen them, so I don’t think that I am having some kind of mental episode!

Having the gvmt force us into one kind of retirement plan is not only the antithesis of freedom, but it also forces us to take risks with our money that we normally wouldn't.

Don't you agree that retirement planing should be the job of the individual and not the job of the gvmt?

Don't you think you could do better with planning your retirement if you did it yourself?
