I was in British Home Stores about 3 years ago around Christmas (I know, it’s only September, but I want to find it for Christmas), and there was a Christmas tree decoration that I was hoping someone could help me with.
It was an electric, made up of lots of tin men, the odd Santa and possibly a reindeer, and they all had cymbals that they were clashing together. But all the characters (all over the tree) made notes at different times, so all the characters collectively played a selection of Christmas songs on your tree!
This is really the sort of thing that I should have bought when I first had the chance, but I thought that I would have time, but then they were all gone. And I went back the next year and they were not there, and I have googled and ebayed myself silly.
So, my question is that if anyone has any idea what they are called, who makes them or where you can get them. Or if they have at least seen them, so I don’t think that I am having some kind of mental episode!

Don,t like the idea at all! There is nothing nicer or more satisfying than decorating a tree with all the things children in the family have made and all the relics of Christmases past.I have a small plastic bell that goes on the tree every year, that has been around for the past 50 years, also from around the same era there is a yule log made out of an oak log ,painted with white paint halfway down to look like snow, there is still a touch of the original glitter on it and 2 holes drilled in it by my Dad where candles could be stood.Happy days .

Hi Anthony,

I kind of recall what you mean. This is because I love christmas, and throughout the season I spend most of my weekends searching the decorations in BHS, M&S, John Lewis and Debenhams.

At the moment, BHS are having a clearance of their back to school stuff, after this they'll bring in Halloween things, and gradually christmas stock at the same time. I think your best bet would be to wait until then and then to go and actually ask someone at BHS. The reason I say this is because, they order they're stock from a wholesaler, who pretty much produce the same stuff each year, so there's a chance that this wholesaler still makes this decoration, it's just that BHS has stopped ordering it as it didn't sell well. Find out the wholesaler and you can find out the nearest stockist!

Good luck and if you do track them down PLEASE let me know as they sound so cool!
