I'm a Christian, and while I respect people of all faiths. I can see online, on television, in the media, and in real life that so many people hate Christians. Yes, most of the Christians we see on TV are the hypocritical stereotype that we all know so well, but does that give people the right to hate ALL CHRISTIANS? Biblically, I know that because Satan hates us, that all people will hate us. But on a worldly level, can someone please tell me why the majority has SO MUCH HATE towards Christians? I love my Muslim, Buddhist, Homosexual, Pagan, etc. brothers and sisters..but they have so much hate for me. I believe that the time is soon approaching that all Chrisitans in America will be persecuted for their beliefs, just like they are killed and tortured in other countries. Now and then, I only have God on my side.

Jesus said " If the world hates you, know that it hated me before it hated you.
John 15:18
Try not to be surprised by this. It's nothing new. It is especially bad on here. I was shocked by it when I first came on here. I didn't think such a large amount of people were really this mean and cruel, but I was wrong. I posted a question to CHRISTIANS yesterday about my brothers death and the God haters even took that as an opportunity to say nasty things. You just have to feel sorry for them and go on. What a sad existence to have nothing better to do with your life than go into a religious forum and hound Christians. Pathetic.
I think the rising trend of Christian bashing is due in large part to the ways Christians are portrayed by Hollywood, in Universities and in music etc. Half of the stories in movie and television have a psyco Christian character and a sweet loving homosexual character. So who come up smelling like roses and who comes up being hated? As you stated the Christians we see on tv are hypocritical stereotypes. Hollywood in recent years has been on a mission to portray Christians in a bad light while glorifying anything and everything that opposes Christianity. The perceptive syndicated columnist Don Feder who is an Orthodox Jew, put it this way,
"White Christians are about the only easy target left... Christian bashing ( in all of it's raw ugliness) is:1)ridiculing conservative Christians as benighted and sheeplike: 2)suggesting there's something sinester about poitical ideas based on scriptural standards or 3) implying that clergy forfeit their Constitutional rights when they don a clerical collar."
Seeing as how most people come home and sit in front of the T.V. for hours on end and watch conservative Christians portrayed in this manner, it's no wonder that they think the way that they do of us.
Christian hatred seems to be becoming red hot in our nation. Just remember it's not you they hate... It's Christ in you, and also remember that Jesus said "the gates of hell shall not prevail against His church. God bless!!

You answered your question yourself:
"Yes, most of the Christians we see on TV are the hypocritical stereotype that we all know so well, but does that give people the right to hate ALL CHRISTIANS?"
Unfortunately, you are judged by the company you keep. Hence it is wise to be your brother's keeper. Do you admonish those hypocritical christians here on this forum, or are you silent? Do you not want to criticize your brother or sister in christ in front of unbelievers? If you withhold, you are guilty for the consequences of this as well.

There's *some* hatred of Christians - but, honestly, I don't think it's as bad as some people make it out to be.
I think that the source of it isn't necessarily Satan, per se, unless you think that he employs a lot of self-proclaimed Christians to spread bad PR. From my angle, a lot of the anger aimed at Christianity is a "chickens coming home to roost" issue - a lot of other religions have suffered at the hands of Christians, and so the members of those other religions tend to be unhappy with Christians in return.
If you want to see how scary it can get, look up the Dominionists - start reading some of the stuff they advocate, and it's enough to freak anybody out. Especially when most of us non-Christians *don't* hear other Christians denouncing them as extremist wierdos.
FWIW, I don't have any problems with Christians - most of my family is, as are a number of my friends. ::shrugs::

I don't hate Christians at all. I dislike them trying to foist their beliefs onto me, though. I dislike the fact they refuse to understand there is indeed a separation of church and state in the Constitution and that along with freedom of religion comes freedom from religion.
You could also ask why people hate Jews so much or hate Muslims so much. But why do you feel Christians in the United States will be persecuted?

First of all you should be optimistic for the fact that this is Christian majority country. I don't understand what makes you think that Christians will be persecuted in this country. There are more Christians here than in entire Europe, Russia and all eastern European countries. Your fear seems baseless to me.
Secondly it is not true that all Muslims hate Christians. Muslims do not hate Christians as much as Christians hate Muslims. Don't you see how Christians are showing their hatred towards Muslims in questions and answers of this program? On the contrary Muslims do not reply on bad comments of Christians towards Muslims. Most of the times, they observe patience and try to give the right knowledge to correct the views of Christians. Most of the comments of Christians are out of ignorance and hatred.
USA has been giving helicoptors, F16, tanks and all sofisticated survellience equipment to Israel which has been using the American war machinery to kill Muslims in Palestine for last 40 years.
President Bush has caused more than one million Muslims in Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan since he became President in reaction to the killing of 2800 innocent people. It is President who has intensified hatred between Muslims and Americans.
Now some Americans are trying to prove that the twin towers couldn't have possibly come down by the airplanes that attacked the buildings and the entire building turning into powder is a mystery to lots of American scientists today. They show their doubts that may be 9/11 incident was done by Americans to have an excuse to go and kill more Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan and occupy their countries. Only God knows the truth. It is American President that has intensified hatred against America in entire Muslim world.
What do you think would be the reaction of Muslims towards American Christians after 40 years persecution?.
Now American Evangelists are giving contributions to help Jews to build more and more settlements on Palestinian lands in West Bank and Gaza strip. They are even backing Jews to destroy Dom of Rock (the 3rd Holiest Mosque of Muslims in Jerusalem). If you had seen the recent program on CNN presented by Chriatiana Amanpur titled 'God's Warriors', you would understand the causes of hatred between Muslims and Americans.
Do you have any idea, how much human life will be lost in this Battle of Armaggedon after destroying Dom of Rock?

I dont think you should feel that way. If people hate christians, they probly are refering to the hypocrytical or extreme christian beliefs...but every religion or faith has that.
And if there are some people who just flat out hate christians, then that is their personal character flaw, which refuses to see the person, and instead judge people based on faith alone...and nothing else...then that's just ignorant.

There are so few people that can rise to the ideals of Christianity. Few Christians really understand that "love your neighbor" stuff.

XTIANS WON'T LET US!
XTIANS are the problem ! Telling everybody else they are wrong, telling people they will go hell if they do not believe as you(which is a judgrment, by the way, based only on YOUR perception), knocking on doors where you are not welcome, trying to take over the government, rampant hate, predjudice and blatant stupidity-
At BEST these things breed disinterest.
At worst, intense dislike.
I have gone from slightly humored disinterest to active dislike just by using this board!

Yeah....it is that mentality that you are being persecuted whenever someone questions you, and that it seems that your doctrine dictates that everyone else is inferior, wrong, and doomed for their lack of following your faith. This does not breed brotherhood, and it is worstened by the insistence that "oh, they weren't real Christians, true Christians". We don't need the nuances of your faith as the individual sees them, cleverly sculpted and gerrymandered to their advantage for the day's debate. All we know is that your faith says that we are going to Hell, and you are not. As long as you keep saying that, no one will ever tolerate you, let alone respect you...
