If you mean the Taraweeh, then its 20 in total. That does not mean you have to perform 20 rakah in one "salat." You could divide it in two or four rakahs and perform 10 or 5 "salats."

20 rakahs and that prayer called the "tarawih" prayer :)

for sunnies, mostly 8 and some continue to 20. it's not obligatory any way.
