I have read "True Magick: A Beginner's Guide" and have found that she is competent to some degree but a bit vague in a lot of her explanations. There IS a lot of useful stuff in thee but as someone else has mentioned, it IS published by Llewellyn and so is suspect to having been watered down a lot by the editors. Llwellyn as a publisher, has been noted for trying to "popularize" Witchcraft and doing so at the expense of providing reliable and complete information in the books that it publishes. YOU were WISE to ask for recomendations of other accomplished Witches and, PLEASE fell free to continue to do this. there are a number of VERY good Witches here and we are more than happy to help out neophytes.
Now, if you have already read most of the books by Raymond Buckland AND Scott Cunninghoam, then you MAY be ready to branch out and explore other wirters and begin to gather those parts of THEIR works that you find that you are able to makie use of in yuour practice. Buckland and Cunningham are almost universally recognized as providing the most basic and genuine foundation for Withces, in SPITE of BOTH being published by Llwellyn. . So, JUST because a book it published by Llwellyn, that in and of itself does NOT make it a useless book. It's just that there are a lot of charlatans that have books on the bookstore shelves and are associated with Llwellyn. So, it's OK to read them, just be choosy and make sure that what you want to use REALLY fits in with YOUR concepts of the Craft. Never adjust YOUR whjole outlook based on a single author or, a single teacher (unless you intend to join that teacher's coven, then you almost have no choice).

I've only used one of her books. It seemed pretty good. She fleshes alot out and provides details enough to understand Intent. I grew up on djConway books, but she can be kinda formulaic in her approach to book writing.
