Also, in the time frame of geology, the separation of Pangea was a couple of billion years before that.

Now think again, man lived for thousands of years with little technological advancement, until the 1800's man still fought hand to hand, there may have been minor technology advancements, but since we hit the 1900's we have been advancing technologically at a severe rapid rate.

then of course you have ww1, ww2 and other wars that have devasted whole countries and economies of whole countries. these are not called world war 1 and 2 for nothing.
