A professor of a university challenged his students with this
question.
"Did God create everything that exists?" A student answered
bravely, "Yes,
he did".
The professor then asked, "If God created everything, then he
created evil.
Since evil exists (as noticed by our own actions), so God is evil.

The student couldn't respond to that statement causing the professor
to
conclude that he had "proved" that "belief in
God" was a fairy tale, and
therefore worthless.

Another student raised his hand and asked the professor, "May I
pose a
question? ", "Of course" answered the professor.

The young student stood up and asked : "Professor does Cold
exists?".
The professor answered, "What kind of question is that? Of
course the cold
exists... haven't you ever been cold?"

The young student answered, "In fact sir, Cold does not exist.
According to
the laws of Physics, what we consider cold , in fact is the absence of
heat.
Anything is able to be studied as long as it transmits energy (heat).
Absolute Zero is the total absence of heat, but cold does not exist.
What
we have done is create a term to describe how we feel if
we don't have body heat or we are not hot."

"And, does Dark exist?", he continued.

The professor answered "Of course". This time the student
responded,
"Again you're wrong, Sir. Darkness does not exist either.
Darkness is in
fact simply the absence of light. Light can be studied, darkness
cannot.
Darkness cannot be broken down. A simple ray of light tears the
darkness
and illuminates the surface where the light beam finishes. Dark is a
term
that we humans have created to describe what happens when there's
lack of
light."

Finally, the student asked the professor, "Sir, does evil
exist?" The
professor replied, "Of course it exists, as I mentioned at the
beginning,
we see violations, crimes and violence anywhere in the world, and
those
things are evil."

The student responded, "Sir, Evil does not exist. Just as in
the previous
cases, Evil is a term which man has created to describe the result
of the
absence of God's presence in the hearts of man. After this, the
professor
bowed down his head, and didn't answer back.

The young man's name was ALBERT EINSTEIN.

My friend said that God has an eternal covenant with them that holds them above the other "beasts" of the earth (non-Jews). Isnt this clearly spelled out in the old testament. Are Christians following a God that makes them second class citizens?

Here are several scenarios where one might have no idea what jesus would do:

1. (Creepy Clown) "Hey Jesus, do you want a bite if my ice cream cone?" As far as I know, there is nothing against clowns in the bible...there is also nothing about eating ice cream cones. What would Jesus do?

2. (Cat Rancher) "Hey Jesus, I want to eat this cat. Would you help me skin it? You can have some!!" Eating cats was probably not wrong and most likely NOT mentioned in the bible. Jesus may have even enjoyed eating cats, but that isn't meantioned either. What would Jesus do?

3. (Jewish Dolphin Trainer*) Hey Jesus, should I wear the red tunic or the loden (J.Crew color) tunic to the "burning of the clowns" festival? Now, do we really know which one Jesus would choose. He may have never seen the J.Crew catalog, so maybe he would choose red. However, maybe he hates the color red because it reminds him of clown noses. What would Jesus do?

She's probably just a troll, but I have to admit, she's a good source of comedy for me now.

I've been searching the Internet for days trying to find a video where Satan is caught red-handed planting fossils, but I can't find one :(

Surely by now, he's been caught in the act in this surveillance-mad world of ours? Anyone have a link to such a vid?

Thanks :)

What carreers are there that are based around mythology/mythological creatures and/or religion? And that doesn't involve writing books or teaching?

If you could give me any ideas or anything about carreers in this field, it would be very helpful.

How do you explain to a Sunday keeping Christian that the fourth commandment is an important one? Then, after you do, how do you get them to believe that Sabbath is Saturday and not Sunday? I hate getting into ignorant conversations with bull headed people, that cannot open their mind to the possibility that what they have grown to know all of their life could be incorrect!

Yes since it's just a minority thing the same as we don't like Spanish being equal to English we don't like homos being equal to heteros. Since many heteros have a gut reaction (by definition something impossible to control) against open homosexuality why should we forced to deal with it on a daily basis. Many people are bulimic does it mean that I have to like and accept their lifestyle and provide vomit bags in restaurants so that they can do it openly and feel accepted by society?

Would you continue to date someone who you have feelings for, when you know (say you can tell the future) that his/her family would have a problem with you not being of 'their own kind'? Would you continue to date him/her when you know they wont be mentally and emotionally strong enough to handle family, peer and societal pressure, when there comes a need for that. You can share your experiences, if you have any interesting ones. NO RACIST COMMENTS please.

Here's a few reasons I though of: Can you think of any more?

Fear: Theists don't want to be sent to hell or excluded from some kind of version of heaven described in almost every religion when they die.

Brainwashed: Most theists were indoctrinated during their infancy to believe some kind of "god". A time when they're too innocent to question a belief because all the people around them don't. "Well if the adults believe in god and they're much smarter than me, it would be right to think I believe in god as well."

Comforting: It's nice knowing some supreme being may or may not be taking care of you in this life and the "next".

Gullibility: A lot of people seem to think that Criss Angel is some kind of demon when he explains his tricks and that he's NOT actually using (black)magic. If you still believe Criss Angel is a demon, imagine how much easier is to believe that god exists. Basically what I'm saying here is: "People will BELIEVE in anything."
