Those who believe "just to be safe" display a complete lack of integrity and courage to stand up for what they truly believe in. If there is a god, I'd hope he would have the inclination to see through these gutless leaches and dispose of them properly.

Hey, you know, you're exactly right. Sometimes when I'm so busy, it seems almost like I'll forget about Him. Then after a while I'll remember that I have not been praying much.
On the other hand, you are also right on this that I truly think people use God as an escape like you don't know about it or something. I was like c'mon stop faking it, you know. If people truly believe in God, they need not express to anyone that they're saved. Some people is like over expressing themself too. I just don't get that. Truly, if you're genuine in your belief, all you have to say is that the Lord is in my heart and I found him within myself. That's all. Thanks for posting that question. At least now I can express how I feel about non-genuine believers. But whom am I to judge, right? We're all pretty much God's children anyways. Sometimes I just wish people would stop being pretentious and stop using his name. It just annoys the heck out of me. I mean I'm not perfect, sometimes I'm kind of the same way and quite genuine in my belief and faith. How are you?

Cant speak for "most people", but I believe in God because I truly believe. There is no "in case there is a God" for me. I know that there is a God. Besides if people get off this "must see God to believe in him" nonsense, simple common sense would show that God is real & there is no "in case there is a God". I am glad that I at least still have enough screws (few though they may be) rattling about up there so that everything in life dont have to walk up to me & slap me in the face for me to acknowledge it.
In reply to Atheist Jesus, the reason why there are many different churches is because there are many different types of people. Every person may not feel comfortable in the same church because of our different personalities. Eg. There are people who like to jump up & praise God & there are some who like to be solemn in praising him. There are therefore different churches to fit the different personalities of the many varied types of people out there. That is why people search for the church that they feel comfortable in. But they are all worshipping one God, even though they may call him by different names & may even choose different ways of worshipping him. In the end we are all vying for his love & his acceptance.
I mean would u expect everybody to like the same type of music & go 2 the same concert hall?

Following God is a way of life. Doesn't matter if someone is a Baptist, Catholic, Jew, or Muslim. If you are to really get something out of your belief in God, then you must make a commitment to opening up your heart completely to God and doing God's will.
Doing God's will, more than anything else, involves loving Him with all your heart, and loving your fellow human beings.
Certainly you (and I) have met many "believers" who wear the cross or attend church out of convenience, or who are hard of heart and judgmental of others. These people are perhaps trying to cover their...butts..., but in the end they are no closer to the kingdom of God than the hard-core atheists of the world.

I believe in God with all my heart and soul. I believe the Bible is His absolute Word for us. I believe in living as Jesus would, to the absolutely best of my ability as a sinning person. I believe in repenting my sin to the Lord, and in forgiveness and love. I have no doubt in any fiber of my being that God is who He says He is, can do what He says He can do, that I am as He says I am, that I can do all things thru Jesus Christ, and that His word is alive in me.

People who believe in god have created an imaginary supernatural being that they use to fit justify their own value system. That's why people will go from church to church until they find one that agrees with them. If there was one true god, all churches would be the same. They're not. There is no god.

Most people are intelligent enough to realize that because their is a standard of good and right in the world there must be a deity.
"Goodness is, so to speak, itself: badness is only spoiled goodness."

many people´s belief in god is based on superstition and fear. They think that if they deny god he will punish them , it is an irrational fear very difficult to get rid of.
