I have been asking Mormons this same question for years. The best answer I get that that the KJV of the Bible is what Joseph Smith was used to so that is the style that he "translated" (wrote) the BoM. If His personality was included then it isn't a translation so much as it is an interpretation. There were many people of limited education in the early 1800s that excepted the KJV as THE Bible. They were unaware that it could ever be translated in a differnt way. Joseph was one of these. You find this same style in the Pearl of Great Price and even in the D&C to some extent. One think I want you to notice.. The italicized words are included without comment. Smith didn't know anything about the real task of translation and that word to make the text flow properly in English some small words have to be added.. He thought it was all part of the original from how the Book of Mormon if often just a copy of the KJ Bible.. This is one of the strongest evidence that Smith was not a prophet but just a liar.... Because the people on this land had the scriptures. You can say they had the Bible (up until Lehi left the east). The prophets in the Book of Mormon added some of those scriptures.
So it doesn't quote King James. Since King James came much later. The Book of Mormon quotes prophets that are also in the Bible. Other prophets are also quoted that are not in the Bible that the world has no record of.
It really makes sense but it's a timeline and location thing. But the Book of Mormon was translated and not copied nor written.

There are two types of "quotes" in the Book of Mormon of the KJV Bible. First are those that were available before Lehi's family left Jerusalem. These were contained on the brass plates spoken of in 1 Nephi. There shouldn't be any concern as to how they were able to quote Isaiah, Jeremiah, or Moses.
The second type are those that were after. Some of these were given by Christ, Himself. See 3rd Nephi chapters12-14, 25 for a few examples. Others were received as revelation by Nephite prophets.
In the days of Joseph Smith, KJV Bible language was equal to "religious" language. That's how the preachers talked.
Shoot....don't have time to finish, I'll try and edit my answer later with futher details.
Ok, let's see if I can finish this :-)
God said the same thing to these prophets on different continents. The gospel isn't different from one part of the world to the other. These prophets wrote them down in whatever language they understood. Joseph Smith was familiar with KJV language. When he saw that the writings were meaning the same thing as what the prophets in the Bible said, he had the scribe write the same thing. However, there are many places where these "quotes" have slight but important differences.
Hope that helps.

The Book of Mormon starts in Jerusalem abou 600 B. C. and includes parts of the book of Isaiah, which all Jews then would have known, if the OT is to be believed.
The Book of Mormon ends about 421 A.D. and Jesus Christ (we believe) appeared to these people before He ascended to heaven. Why would the things He taught these people be any different than what He taught the Bible people?
So, no, it's not surprising that parts of the Book of Mormon would be teh same as the Bible.

In the beginning of the Book of Mormon, The Prophet Lehi sends his sons back to get the Brass plates (a record of every prophet from Adam until Jeremiah). This is how plus When Christ visited the American continent he taught them the same words as he did in his mortal ministry. Including some by Malachi. Plus God shared the same message to all of his children, so naturally you'll find the same idea's in the Bible and the Book of Mormon.

The Book of Mormon was translated into the english of Joseph Smith's day. He only had a 3rd grade education a backwoods education at best. He couln't write....Anti mormons won't tell you that so he had scribes write for him as he dictated. The backwoods area of upstate New York only read the bible so they spoke and wrote in that way.
Actually some verses that are similar to the bible, he changed to be correct.
