In hebrews it says we have a better covenant than the old? What was the old covenant, what is the new covenant, and what are the differences between these two covenants as to say that the new one is better than the old one? Just some survey questions -- I want to know what people think about this.

is it because you know in your heart of hearts there really is a God? Why don't you just accept Jesus? If you don't and you're wrong, you're going to be in trouble, but if you do and it turns out there really isn't a God, you've lost nothing, right? Something can't come from nothing. Do you really want to believe we came from monkeys? If we did, why are there still monkeys? Can the wind blow through a junkyard and have a plane form by accident?

I think not.

I live in Middle Tennessee and I'm a christian. I don't party or anything like that. I'm looking for good (maybe unique) ideas that the youth will love and will keep people in a wholesome atmosphere

“Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.” –Adolf Hitler (Mein Kampf)

“Only in the steady and constant application of force lies the very first prerequisite for success. This persistence, however, can always and only arise from a definite spiritual conviction. Any violence which does not spring from a firm, spiritual base, will be wavering and uncertain.” –Adolf Hitler Mein Kampf (Here Hitler is admitting that his war against the Jews were so successful because of his strong Christian Spirituality.)

"The personification of the devil as the symbol of all evil assumes the living shape of the Jew." -Adolf Hitler Mein Kampf (The idea of the devil and the Jew came out of medieval anti-Jewish beliefs based on interpretations from the Bible. Martin Luther, and teachers after him, continued this “tradition” up until the 20th century.)

Who are they to determine what is attractive and be so pompous as to suggest that they are better because they are attractive in their own eyes? I am not referring to self-confidence and knowing you look good, but being extremely egotistical, trivial and vain.

Of all the days that could have been chosen for christmas and easter, christians picked two Pagan holidays to celebrate these things. At the same time, they never even thought about celebrating Jewish holy days. How can you follow a Jewish "savior" by neglecting to observe the same holy days he would have observed, but instead taking up holidays of the religions Jews were warned against by their god?

Here's some info on Jewish Holy Days: http://www.jewfaq.org/holiday0.htm

Did you even know these existed? You can't say it isn't important, because if your god chose for his son to be a Jew, and he gave the Jews those holy days, then he must have thought it was pretty important.

Can anyone tell me why christianity would take a Pagan holiday and make it holy, but act as if the Jewish holy days aren't even worthy of being acknowledged?

I recenlty posted this question in another category - family and relationships - but it didn't give me any answers. I'm taking a leap with this category so hopefully you guys can!

My boyfriend and I broke up some three or four years ago and up until recently I havne't thought about him that much. But in these last few weeks, every night I dream about him. The dreams don't say much though. Then during the day, I am constantly thinking about him, trying to sort out the dreams and possible their meanings. Am I missing something? Why do I keep dreaming about someone that I haven't seen, spoken to, or even thought about that much in almost four years? Why now? Is my conscious telling me something or am I being too weird and it is just a coincidence? Help!

P.S. I am not looking to get back together with him. There are some underlying issues of why we broke up but he lives in Georgia and I am in NC so that long distance of a relationship really wouldn't go over well.

---nothing more than a smug, and self-complacent attitude toward society?
Where are the Atheist organizations that can replace The Salvation Army, Boy's Town, the YW or YMCA, or the many other religious institutions and hospitals that address the many serious problems that confront our society?

Do we just continue to ridicule religion, and offer no limitations on, or consequences for an individual's behavior? Do we offer nothing to replace the altruistic services performed by those same institutions that brainwash our children?

If we are successful in destroying religion , have we helped or harmed society? Or, do we even care?
I'm a curious, and concerned atheist

Me and my boyfriend have been together for 1.5 years. I know we're past the point of the puppy love stage, but things are so boring lately. he used to tell me i was beautiful everyday, but now he never says it. he calls me every night to talk to me, and he does spend time with me. its just so boring lately. we're both busy & poor with college, but we eat, talk on the phone together, and watch tv. Lately, that's what we've been doing. Like the second I want to hang out and he's busy he says I'm too attached. But he's the one that calls me everyday, and comes and visits everday, and i dont mind, but i dont see how that makes me attached. So we've been giving each other space because we've been arguing alot these days, and it seems to be helping. it's like i get so excited to hang out with him, and im disappointed because we don't do anything like we used to. i feel like we act more like friends lately then 2 people that are head over heels for each other. am i just being ungrateful?

If you cannot receive communion, but you go up to receive a blessing, do you have to go to the priest or can one of the parish members who administers communion give it to you? My church is very large, and there are six lines for communion. I never know if I have to be in the line that the priest is at to get a blessing! How does that work?

All religions including atheist lead to one eventuality. You drop dead. Nothing past that has even come close to being proven. Man is no closer to understanding life now than he was millions of years ago. Now the question: Is understanding life the only thing we do not have a clue about. It is probably a fact that all has been hidden from us and we know nothing. Something about a glass darkly comes into my mind.
Some people have recommended that I read the Bible. Let's play. Reading the Bible is how i came to know that the people who wrote the Bible did not believe it.
Let's play. Go ahead quote me some scriptures like I have never heard them before.
