ok, some of you have a point, that they claim to be doing it in the name of Allah...but why do people believe that? i mean do you believe that God really sent us a religion that wants people to do evil? God made it clear for everyone that we must do good and never do bad...those who claim they're doing it in the name of Allah are just saying that as an excuse

i dnt really know mch abt the issues but being asian, i've encountered a lot of prejudice frm other cultures as well. its ugly and it makes you feel small even if you dont admit it to yourslf. so i can imagine how peace loving muslims must feel. the biases against them are much much worst. its really sad cuz i know some of them and they're far from the stereotype that we know. these ppl who do violent things, i dnt think they represent the muslim ppl at all. they just use their religion to justify what they do. i dnt think the koran preaches violence at all. no religion does that. some ppl jst twist things to suit their ends. the hating and judging stems from ignorance yes, but its also mostly from a lack of respect for the differences in our cultures. ppl always think they're better than the rest. its human nature, but its not something we all cant overcome if we care enough to be decent human beings.

People judge and hate others over ANYTHING, not just religion. It just so happens right now religion is in the middle of the problems.
A huge part of the problem I think is that the terrorists are using Islam for their deranged cause, yet the rest of the Islamic world, with the exception of a few countries, do not do anything about it! They don't even do something as simple as condemn it!
I think if the Islamic world as a whole rises up and helps the western world contain and even eradicate terrorism, it will go away very quickly, and Americans and the rest of the world wouldn't view all Muslims as terrorists or terrorist sympathizers.
Another part of the problem is the western media only focusing attention on the terrorists and those who support them, they don't even mention the few Muslim countries who are actively helping fight terrorism, and they don't try to explain to the public that its only a few Muslims using the religion for the wrong purpose.

because americans are ignorant.
Christian Americans are even worse, they have all this propaganda and they've been brainwashed by CNN and Fox.

All the Americans here are gonna think it's not true but the rest of the world knows it. When you're living in the very small box that is America, you think you're always right and that everything that your television tells you is correct.

Americans are living in the most ignorant society ever.

See the users above? The person who said Christians don't do that, well, that user is ignorant. Obviously they don't know of the stuff that many of their beloved friends have done, don't people know what the Christian Americans did in Iraq and other countries? Just as bad as what the radical Muslims did on 9/11.

That being said, not all Muslims are like that, in fact, few are. There are just as many terrorists in Christianity as there are in Islam, they just do it in a different way. Although sometimes we see it done the same way, but the media projects it otherwise.

First of all, a few bad apples have sparked allot of people to think that Islam is destructive and terroristic when of course its not. Failure to understand Islam, the Muslim culture and their own faiths is the nucleus of the problem. They judge what they don't understand or don't want to understand. Judaism, Christianity and Islam all have their bad apples yet we have the capacity to live peacefully through understanding and tolerance without being bias. America too has the capacity to do this and I think that allot of Americans do. Unfortunately the world affairs puts Islam in a bad light.

You need to make a trip to a few other countries if you think Americans are judgmental!!!!!!!!

ALL of the Abraham religions were created as an iron-fisted way of controlling the populace. It is not surprising to find so many extremists to be Islamic.

When the Islamic world finds that it can, by and large, exist peacefully with the rest of the world, I predict that there will be a 4th religion descending from the story of Abraham that will take over the roll of killing or converting the world. For all I know it may already exist, just waiting for Islam to calm down a little.

I don't particularly target just Islam and I am certain that there are more nice, pious, and respectful people of Islamic religion then those terristicly motivated. They probably could be considered as outstanding members of their communities. I do not discourage people for their efforts in civic matters. I do however, know that Jesus Christ has given me a commandment to propogate and evangelize everyone.
The teachings of the Bible and my God are to turn all men to him and show them they are the apple of his eye and he loves all men. It is just that we are living on this earth with a darkened spirit and without God and the only cure for this affliction is to accept the blood of Christ for the forgiveness of sin. Without this forgiveness we are bound for eternal Hell because God can't dwell with darkness. We must accept the blood of Christ before we can be translated from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light. This is why I tell those of Islam to come up higher and allow Jesus Christ to Save you from your sin not out of anger but because it is true. God bless.

Becuse the terrorists are doing it in the name of Islam... Not to mention Tha majority of the middle east (which is islam) hates america....more then the rest of the world anyways. The rest of the world has weird reasons for hating america, not all are bad, not all are right. They are generally however based on the choices we have made. (like electing certin people.... In cali, Gray doofus took CA from having an incredible surplus of money, to being one of the most in debt states in america....and then we RE-ELECT him. At least we recalled him.

I know its not fair or just to blame ALL Islamists for what the idiot taliban and there Jihad are doing. But.... think of it this way. A soilder is sent to iraq for say 2 years. In those 2 years he is subject to over 100 attempts on his life.... just for being an american soilder. Lets say hes an intel officer, so these arnt millitary attacks. So whenever he sees people in turbans, he reachs for his gun as a precaution. He has seen many close friends killed by attackers becuse they were unarmed.

So he finally gets out of that hell hole, and is back in the states. He's at a del taco, or a mc donalds or something and he nottices a guy in a turban walk by.... he panicks cause he cant find his gun at his hip were its supposed to be.

Could you really blame him. I know this does not justify half of america's current prejudice of Islam. There are good reasons to despise the middle east, but america isnt using one of them. Theres justification to point a weaker ICBM at Mecca, and say "you have 2 weeks. If we dont get (list of taliban responsible for 9/11) it goes bye bye, and then we fire bomb the rest of your desert wasteland." but america isnt bothering with reason and logic. all they want is to "Kill the ALL infedelic bastards, becuse a group of idiots who cant even add somehow managed to kill 3000 innocent people.... or convert them.)

My brother, please ignore the other answers that think they know islam, I am a moslem and even though i find their answers offensive please hopefully they can understand and learn more in islam. I know that in recent years many terrorist attacks have been done by islamic extremist giving islam a bad name. I for one do not agree with these terrorist attacks I condemn all acts of terrorism. Some moslems interpret the teachings differently giving them a missconception on several of teachings in islam. This is then used by some parties as atool of giving islam a bad rep. Islam is a peaceful religion.

They blame Islam because the terrorists claim to be doing Allah's will when they kill innocent civilians.

It's true that most Muslims do NOT feel that way; but it's also true that organized religion, in any form enables people to commit evil while thinking they are somehow justified or righteous in doing so.

Because people seem to not think. And if they judge by religion it's so wrong to do because everyone takes it differently and it's basically impossible to think EXACTLY the same as everyone else. And because of one stupid person everyone that comes close to his/her believes get's treated the same which is wrong in so many levels. And they will get punished in their own way. Pay no mind to those ignorant people that think that way, it's so sad to see
