Sure, I guess it would be nice. I have Aspergers and as you've probably found out, just because we lack social skills it is assumed we are lacking intellectually also. That part I would love to change. Whatever the origin of autism is, who knows. Maybe childhood innoculations might be part of the cause or possibly it could be heredity. (I also have others in my family that are autistic in varying degrees) It would be nice if they develop the capability to check newborns to see if they have the potential to develop autism in later life.

If I may make a suggestion: there are some of the most astonishing books by Dr Temple Grandin who is autistic. She hasn't let this stand in her way, but is a most amazing woman who has used the fact that she is high-functioning to open a door into the world of Autism for parents, teachers and people with Autism.

As more studies are done, and more is understood about the condition, so one comes to admire people who are dealing with it, and their families more and more!

To you and to the parent with the Autistic child, I think you're valiant! Totally courageous, and hope that you write your experiences for us to gain more understanding!

I am going to say this again and again. I don't know what caused your autism, but lets look at some fact. Years ago, before the government started forcing more than ninety manditory shots on children, Autism, was only diagnosed, at a rate of one in 500,000....It then was considered, to be a result of a 'cold' mother, and a child neglected...but since the shots, which contain mercury and thermosol,..which freezes the brain band, and stop the develpment, at that time...the diagnosis has changed to one in every 152 children..this is horrific...I myself, have been studying the effects of zeolites, on removing heavy metals from the system..once I had found out I have toxic levels of many dangerous metals in my system...I have been taking the zeolites for a month, and the results have been astonishing...So, I started researching, and wondered myself,if it might be something that could remove the mercury from the brains of children exposed to those horrible shots..well,..guess what, they are doing a study, and there is not just these people doing it...many huge companies are studying the astonishing effect of zeolites on children, and almost getting them back to 'normal'...please, read this link I am going to give you carefully and fully, before you listen to anyone elses opinion...and I pray, that it helps anyone and everyone...God Bless, it is just natural volcanic rock...made in to liquid form..and it works amazingly because it bonds to the metals, removing them from your body..please read and see what you think and research it yourself,

Troll you are clearly high functioning Autism, Aspergers I imagine. You have to stop loathing yourself for it.

You are in GOOD company, the rumour is Bill Gates is Aspergers, Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Issac Newton, Jim Hensen who created the Muppets, Charles Schulz who created the Peanuts cartoons, the whole world loves Snoopy, Keanu Reeves, everyone who has met him says he is a wonderful person. James Taylor one of my favourite musicians.

And probably Donald Trump too, I heard his people skills are non-existent. People have labelled him Aspergers.

My exe-roommate has Aspergers, he is a VERY successful science and math teacher. His students literally EXCEL in his classes and we have helped a lot of them get into Universities in NA to continue their studies. He receives emails and letters all the time from students thanking him and saying "your class was the best class I ever had, I learned so much".

There isnt any cure BUT counseling often helps people with Aspergers to learn social skills and communication skills so they can get along much better with others.

Aspergers is an invisible disability so if you learn social skills and communication skills no one will ever know you have it.

If you have received negative messages from family or people in the past let it go. They were wrong. Dont judge yourself so harshly, most Asperger people have above normal intelligence, high IQ's and IF they can find a focus in life and something they are interested in they will become way more successful than people without aspergers.

This is because they CAN focus on what they are doing, and exclude distractions.

All the people I named are considered "loners" and I know my exe roommate REALLY wants friends, longs for company, and close relationships - he just hasnt known HOW to make that happen for himself, yet.

He is working VERY HARD right now on learning social skills and HOW to make and keep friends, and a relationship.

Having Aspergers is not the end of the world, God gave you some very special gifts, high intelligence, and took away some others, social skills. But isnt it that way with every one of us? Few of us EVER get all the good stuff handed to us, we are ALL lacking skills in one area or another, we just need to work on those.

Of ALL the disabilities you could have been born with you should thank God you got Aspergers. Simply because its called "high functioning" for a reason.

FIND that focus in your life - STOP beating up on yourself - STOP listening to the negative people - GET OUT into the world and make it happen for you -
